Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music

dB on these new files is near that of the old files.

They play fine for me, not too loud at 95-97dB, so I have just left them as such.

It's really a 5 minute project downloading mp3gain,downloading the files to a usb drive, then copy onto the ps3, then in game and for that initial test. If they are too loud or low, plug in the usb on your computer, mp3gain that folder from the usb drive, and do the necessary changes. Then go back to ps3, delete all the new music and playlists, and add in the new files, back to the beginning step.

again, if its too much work, just dont use the file.

I got 360 users saying they're too low, ps3 users saying they;'re too loud, and no one doing the mp3gaining, themselves to fix the problem.

You dont even need to put all of the files on a usb. Just test out three or four tracks, and go from there. Ps3 files may be better suited around 91 or 93 dB. And maybe after testing that first or second track, you can MP3GAIN that entire folder and upload it for everyone else.. Or give me the proper DB levels and I can upload it for ps3 users..

I'm just really stuck here without a ps3 to play the game and do a DUAL test. My primary focus is on what sounds good for me, and im just sharing with others

If the files are too loud, just turn down the PA volume.

Nicely said Ruben! The sound problem has been a mixed opinion all around.

Just download it and check it out. It's pretty much self explanatory.
            -Many tracks inside one folder
-SORTING is optimized via ARTIST and ALBUM mp3 tag recognition

For File Option #1 streaming Xbox 360 users:
-Time to learn how to make and edit playlists.
---Step 1: Analyze the files and decide which ones you want to use.
---Step 2: Pick the file that you want to add to a playlist. For example the new live defensive BUCKS with horn sound bit.
---Step 3: Locate the appropriate CHANT DEFENSE playlist in the my playlist/home.away.chant.player folder.
---Step 4: Having found the Chant Defense group 1- with MIL playlist, open up WMP and play it , or right click and play in WMP. Now you want to have the new files located somewhere you can easily drag them from. So leaving them in one folder next to the NBA folder is acceptable.
---Step 5: Drag the new live defensive BUCKS with horn sound file into the right hand side of WMP. There should be a list pane open
---Step 6: Having added a new track, You will need to press on the words "NOW PLAYING" at the top, and save playlist as. something new, in this case, BUCKS chant defense group 1.

For playlists that are already there, like Knicks HU AU group 2, open that up in WMP, let it begin to play, and drag and drop from the folder with the songs, into WMP list pane on the right. Instead of saving a new playlist name, simply overwrite the prior playlist (make sure the extension is the same wpl/m3u)

Thats pretty much the best advice I can give you right now.. There are other means to messing around with playlists inside of WMP, but you can experiment with that. IE, playing one song or highlights a set of songs that are in the now playing LIST pane, you can right click and ADD TO... and select additional playlists, to add those song (s) into the playlist seamlessly.

If all this seems like too much work, it probably is. Ignore this update and move on.
            ------------

File option #2/3 users. This is more of the same here. Mp3 tagging is here suggesting where to place stuff. Do so at your own leisure
so these files are obviously just addons for us streaming 360 guys?

just take the files like the bucks one above, drop and drag into the correct playlist, save playlist, boom done correct?

or would you recommend creating a separate playlist now for the bucks defense chant and using that over the one that is used by a few teams so to speak?

Would anyone possibly know what my arena music is skipping? The music is from the files in this thread. It used to play fine, but now its all screwed up. Thanks

Fiddy, Some are simply add ons where the playlist NAME is already present, like the knicks stuff or lakers stuff.

For some others that are completely new, like the BUCKS chant defense. You will need to open the generic CHANT DEFENSE GROUP (#), add the file by dragging and dropping, then NAMING it something else, like Bucks Chant Defense playlist.

Id be more than willing to help anyone who at least attempts to go about this. Once you get started, its a piece of cake.

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music

The Long generic tracks are harder, as you have 8 new ones, and 8 groups.
I randomly added one song to each group, then opened each playlist and added that one specific song into the playlist.

It almost seems like too much extra work with no true benefit, but I did it anyways.

The layering is pretty intense though so I dont recommend starting from scratch on the long tracks if you can help it.

-You start with the 40 group tracks.
-You then then look for the generic popular-for all arenas songs. Add 3 of the 4 tracks listed there, depending on the group#.
-Then you have your basic LONG GROUP(#) playlist saved.
-Now you need to go into the team specific folders and add any team specific stuff to the right long group playlist, and then RENAME it to the team name.

The under the hood stuff to file option #1 is pretty remarkable

I tried creating my own playlists from songs on my computer. I played the songs in WMP and then saved the playlist (which was only one song). When I tried to play the songs in the custom music menu in-game, no song/sound was played. Am I missing a simple step?

I have a 360, Last night the custom tracks recognized my streamed content but now all the game seems to see are the tracks on my hard drive.

The 360 system still sees the streamed content with no problem but the NBA2k game cannot seem to.

                              Any ideas?

Sorry if this was asked before.

I never found the "we will rock you" instrumental in the file but i did do a little digging and downloaded it, here it is for you guys if u didnt have it already.

Good lookin out on this new file Ruben. I already see some stuff im going to replace. I like how you looped everything to at least 24 secs. And you read my mind about that Ferris Bueller track, I was just thinking about that when I watched the Bulls game last nite.
