Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
I gotta admit, once I realized I could record my own sounds on my mac and then customize the arena announcer saying player names when they score on PS3...I've been having a field day recording off the wall sh*t when the Bobcats score

I love this game

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
Not sure if it's my xbox, my cd or the music, but my xbox is only ripping a few of the songs onto my hard drive. Like 9 out of 41 of the tracks and I tried cleaning the disc and that didnt work. Tried another disc and that didn't work. Tried a different playlist and that didn't work.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
might be a cd burner issue. I switched up computers and got that same problem fixed for 2k10.
btw, Just started some my player and turned off all of the home away, defensive stuff and I must say it sounds pretty awesome. Ive only played at two venues so far, but each one is totally different from the other.
Has anyone thought of cataloging what theyve heard in each arena and whats unique. I just may leave LONG and tipoff on, and hear what I can from the 2ksports team for the in game stuff.. so far Im liking what I hear alot more than some of the generic stuffComment

I'm using Audacity for mac, which allows you to record through your microphone and export as .mp3. Which means I've been saying the players names myself, throwing in weird effects, and laughing my *** off when they score. I've also been using clips from songs, sound fx, and robot voices to mix it up.
The only problem I've run into is that sometimes the PA announcer will talk over my PA voices...so you hear DJJJJJJJJJ AUUUUUGUSTIIIIINNNN once with my recording and then once with the 2k11 stock recording. Kind of weird...working to find a way around it. Doesn't happen with everyone, which is good. You shouldn't worry about what others think of you, because if you knew how little they did, you would be insulted.

After thinking about it, I'm worried that the PA announcer will talk over the noise every time...and that the only point of adding custom player sounds is just noises/sound fx you can overlay on top of the original PA guy. We'll see.Yeah, to an extent.

Prove to rip a group of song(1-5;5-15;15-20 etc)i had the same problem and i resolve it...Not sure if it's my xbox, my cd or the music, but my xbox is only ripping a few of the songs onto my hard drive. In association mode the time-out for the cpu are normally respect to a quick game...

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
I gave up on streaming as it kept giving me issues. Not sure if it's my xbox, my cd or the music, but my xbox is only ripping a few of the songs onto my hard drive. Like 9 out of 41 of the tracks and I tried cleaning the disc and that didnt work. Tried another disc and that didn't work. Tried a different playlist and that didn't work.
I had the same issues with most of Ruben's songs. The other guy's 2 downloads had no issues. So basically I have up/down covered, which is all I really need. Can't do player sounds, tip off (useless anyway) or long (which is kinda disappointing).
Ruben, I think most of the songs you had come up as "Raw" instead of MP3 in 2 different burner applications I tried. Using WMP I was able to burn the songs, but they either came through blank on the CD (one burner program) or the other had them playable on the 360, but I couldn't rip them.
No big deal in the end, ended up still with 60-70 up/down tracks that sound pretty good and even better being on the actual 360 instead of streaming.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
Just by glancing at the MP3 files I noticed they weren't categorized by teams. Did I download them wrong? Or is there a way for me to find all the 76er's sounds?Twitter - @I_am_Mr_MillerComment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
Before I say anything else I just to want to thank Ruben and all the other contributors for all the work they've done on these files. The potential of how these can be used (especially if they enable the playlists to shuffle) is crazy.
However I've ran into an issue. I've made all these playlists and when I go to assign them to their arenas I dont get all the playlist. For some reason it stops at Pistons HALFTIME therefore I cannot assign any music/sounds for teams that are alphabetically after the Pistons (ie: Suns, Thunder, Wizards, etc). Is this happening to anyone else?Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
You mean the stuff 2K already had in the game is what you like, right? Go with 2K's already-implemented HOME AWAY AND DEFENSE, but go with uploaded TIPOFF AND LONG?might be a cd burner issue. I switched up computers and got that same problem fixed for 2k10.

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
This is what i've done and its the best way to go. I only have playlists set for the offense and defense team chant, as well as the POTG, long and tipoff. The team did a great job putting in sounds this year, unlike last year where you HAD to put your own stuff in cause some of it was so badmight be a cd burner issue. I switched up computers and got that same problem fixed for 2k10.

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
zen master, are you finding the chant team (offense) or chant defense (defence) category plays less frequently than other groups? I wouldnt mind hearing my sounds once or twice ever 10 trips up, but it got to a point where it was over powering.
My thinking is:
I could throw out the live team chants (which are good but possibly unneeded) and even the live defense chants, along with all the other real life chants, and simply use that chant team playlist and chant defense playlist for a few hiphop instrumentals? Is that how your setup is?
Once you involve custom music, it seems like the arena goes into crazy mode playing sound bits randomly. With it off for me, everything played out appropriately with crowd interaction on alot of stuff.

I heard a LETS GO MAGIC chant in game or GO MAGIC GO chant that someone was asking about.. well its in the game already, which i thought was pretty cool.
I also heard a few "instrumental" type songs from 2k beats thrown into the home up mixture .
I do wonder if some of these chants are duplicate plays in other venues.. I'm gonna have to push through an entire evening playing every venue at once.
Cool thing about my player LONG songs being there, you can pretty much hear more than 30 seconds of the song as the timeout runs its courseLast edited by RubenDouglas; 10-17-2010, 01:38 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
so you are kinda coming to the conclusion to use the default 2k arena sounds for the most part? except for home and away up? or use just the long tracks?zen master, are you finding the chant team (offense) or chant defense (defence) category plays less frequently than other groups?
