Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
TIPOFF- Generally speaking, after the games intro music ends, you have 15-20 seconds of "tipoff" music to coincide with the games tipoff
LONG- Generally speaking, when timeouts are called, the camera pans out to the crowd, and the LONG event kicks in.
HOME UP- Generally speaking, when the home team is in possession of the ball
AWAY UP- Generally speaking, when the away team is in possession of the ball
CHANT DEFENSE- Essentially what AWAY UP is. Most people tend to use the same playlists for both of HAWAY UP and CHANT DEFENSE event. Interchangeable with the AWAY UP event.
CHANT TEAM- Much like the Chant Defense event, this one focuses on when the HOME team has the ball. Interchangeable with the HOME UP event.
HALFTIME- This is a MENU music track that is usually played in and around the halftime menus. (im not exactly sure if this was fully functional last year)
PLAYER OF THE GAME- This would play when the POTG menu is on the screen showing stats and highlights. I tend to throw in some end of the game classics or stick with some "I'm the &*^$" type hip hop songs.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
When using the program MP3gain' to modify my music, what is needed to create the authentic stadium sound. I have read that the settins should be set
"PS3 gamers have given values of 87 to89dB as the recommended settings
XBOX 360 gamers have given values ranging from 93 to 97dB"
Is this all that is needed to be done? thanks

Jrose57, each file has a sound "rating", in which it plays at a certain level or dB. Some recordings from wherever the source may be have them set very low. Some are recorded and loaded up at a very high dB. Since you cant really make any adjustments in game, you are forced to try and get all of the files you have to be at one STANDARD level.
In mp3gain, I use TRACK analysis and TRACK GAIN.. Album gain is a bit different. That uses the average dB of the entire folder listing, and adjusts files accordingly. Track gain is totally independent editing.
Unfortunately it appears the ps3 and xbox360 need different dB settings for in game.
USE the mp3 tagging and sort by ARTIST or ALBUM.
As noted on the first page, HOMEUP = CHANT TEAM and AWAYUP= CHANT DEFENSE. Many tracks are listed as HOME UP only but can probably be placed anywhere. The only true specifics are the defensive chants that belong in CHANT DEFENSE. Everything else is free game.
I am personally having GREAT success using CHANT TEAM playlist and CHANT DEFENSE playlist only. That is it. In chant team, i have 20 random tracks. In Chant team, I have 15 random tracks along with 5 chant defensive chants. There is enough tracks to have 14 individual RANDOM groups for the homeup/awayup type events. I have it set up currently where a team like Boston may have CHANT TEAMgroup1 and CHANT DEFENSEgroup4 playing. So its really 40 unique tracks during one game... Another team play have CHANT TEAM group1 along with CHANT DEFENSE group12. Literally every single arena is different. I highly recommend going with the random group route. With the ps3 unforunately, there is a limit of 64 playlists. So I would maybe split the HU/AU into two core groups, add in the defensive chants into them and create 4 total playlists... Follow that same process for Long.
DYNAMICS, Either choose open folder or select all of the files in its own browswer window and drag them all over. You can mass edit every file in less than 5 minutes.
jeebs9, I do the same thing with POTG. It' may be the best part of the game for meLast edited by RubenDouglas; 11-24-2010, 06:41 PM.Comment

jc2367, If youre interested in creating your own stuff, it's called reverb. That is unneeded on the tracks provided, as it was already done. Any sort of sound/audio editor should be able to do reverb. MP3GAIN deals with only the sound levels.
--- jeebs or anyone else who may want to give feedback. How is the choice of music on the generic halftime or generic POTG tracks? It was a bit hard dividing the two up for many. Or have you done your own mixes. I'd like to see what some of you are hearingLast edited by RubenDouglas; 11-25-2010, 06:21 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k11 Custom Arena Music
Custom music works fine, the LONG songs are way too loud though, gonna have to reduce them in mp3gain.Comment
