Re: Cavs vs Heat gameplay
Unreal guys. No offense to any of you guys on here, but the title of the thread is specifically indicating gameplay and you are tearing down the forums about court details and LeBron being booed? C'mon now? I understand, we all love the little things and especially specific details to be executed in a certain way - But, and a big BUT - let's be glad the actual gameplay is appears to be on point this year. The AI is actually making good choices on offense and Defense. The vid was nice and really showed us more that we already knew - the GAME itself is awesome. Color schemes be damned I guess.Truly Blessed -Comment

Re: Cavs vs Heat gameplay
Is reversed under the basketball art also in the NBA templates plans? Pink red colors? Totally missing art from under the basket?
Just admit a mistake was made.
2k8 had a bobcats arena that was already DEMOLISHED modeled in the game (charlotte colesium). Did the nba give you that one one too?. Common sense should dictate right or wrong and appropriate channels to discuss that should be made. If its as cut and dry and getting content from the NBA, shouldnt both a live game and this 2k game share the same "mistakes"?Last edited by RubenDouglas; 10-01-2010, 12:38 AM.Comment

Re: Cavs vs Heat gameplay
LOL man this is hilarious....
So SimBaller is lying now?'
Under the pressure of some angry forum members he made up a story about why the court was incorrect? I mean, come on fellas...lets come down to earth...I know at least some of you work in a situation, where you have to work with another party to get something done...
Me personally, im a Bobcats season ticket holder and if you put a gun to my head I couldnt tell you the arrangement on the floor right now....lol.
I can respect why some would be angry about their home team though...I assume it would be annoying for people who are into that stuff...Thats a pretty bad mess up, and if they wouldnt have addressed it at all, I could imagine you would be even more upset. But Sim gave us an explanation....hopefully hell follow up with info on if it can be patched or not.Comment

I don't really have anything to 'defend'. People wanted to know why the court looks the way it does, so I told them. If you would like to attack my integrity further, please feel free to take it offline and send me a PM.
I realize people are antsy for the game and want every detail to be perfect. No game is perfect, I think everyone knows that. This game, however, is the most enjoyable game of basketball I've ever played. Hold on for a few more days, and the only thing you'll be focusing on is what to do next. 2K11 offers a lot of options.Comment

Man, some of you guys are HARSH. I can understand being upset, especially if the Cavs are your hometown or favorite team, but blatantly calling someone a liar, that's harsh. These guys made an excellent game, one critical flaw to a teams court, and it's the end of the world and you're trashing these guys.
Give them some time, see if they can fix it, if they can't, don't let it ruin 2K11 for you.Comment

Re: Cavs vs Heat gameplay
Some people were saying they don't buy that excuse and what not, I just don't think they have to make an excuse for something like that. They know it's wrong, but that's what they got from the NBA.
So yeah, I see where you're coming from. If Buffalo still had an NBA team, and they got our court or jerseys wrong i'd be pretty upset to, but I wouldn't want to hang the developers like some of the guys in this thread do.Comment

Re: Cavs vs Heat gameplay
Simballer, my apologies if it felt like I was attacking you or any of the artists. That was not my intention. I've had correspondence via this forum with fellow artists before in aid of arena photos/graphics/arena-jersey website updates. So I am fully aware of what can go on. I guess courts have been my 'thing' dating back years. I was able to edit upwards of 140 Ch2k8 courts. Emotions can run high. To me its cut and dry, and simple. but obviously if it was as such, things like this wouldnt happen
It just looks bad on you, the final product piece, when blame should go to the initial information givers. Maybe I'm looking at it like i'm defending the artists here. They are doing just what they were given or told. and if it's wrong, it doesnt reflect back to the NBA in most cases, they look at the people who created the game. I would look at it like blame being given out to the wrong source. And be appalled at what was sent to me by the NBA.
Is the way NCAA type games get their info different than how the NBA gets theirs? I understand that you would make an inquiry through the Universities PR/marketing department and get stuff done that way. But for the last few years with the CH series, forum participation yielded some GREAT results. Would the poster requests be sent back to the school for confirmation?
I just understand that many schools in the NCAA could have cared less to send back totally accurate stuff to gaming companies, and that left you guys scrambling. I don't want to put myself on a pedistool here but if it wasn't for me, my Universities court and jerseys would still be outdated. But one internet link to an artist yield substantial results. Given the proper resources, these professionals do some stunning work. I commend them.
I'm just saying, the NBA is making them look bad, and that is not fair at all. They deserve better. But with contractual agreements to go by the book. You go by the book. It's understandable but disapointing. The NBA may be an entirely different beast than how the NCAA worked. So my frustration levels can appear to be elevated in that regardComment

This is the REAL court. It's a 2K10 mod.Comment

If you are implying that one of my artists went off and designed that court on their own, then you are calling me a liar, and well, that's on you my friend.
