You just have to make good passes. You have to ask yourself would I make this pass in real life on the basketball court. If the answer is no then don't throw that pass pretty simple and fundamental really.

Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review
I know I only have the demo right now, but I don't have a problem with the passing. Granted it's on Casual/Pro, but it makes you have to make smart passes and tones down pick and roll success greatly.
This gets balanced out on the other end because of the improved defensive teammate AI logic. And the same pass-deflection logic cuts down on the CPU zipping laser passes through your defense. I'm all for a more defensive-minded game.
We'll see when the game drops if it lives up to the score. I don't find it farfetched at least in terms of it being the best basketball game ever. The demo is the best experience I've had with a hoops game.Comment

A lot of us man -- cause of 2k - I know damn near every player in the leagues name. And it helps you appreciate the pressures those guys feel in the game. Good quality for a video game .. I'll givce em that. Inspite of all the complaints .. as a whole - it always feels like a bball gm. imo at least.
Ok so it's not just me and my brother.....NBA 2k...(especially if you're good at the game) makes you recognize good basketball or bad basketball better when you watch your favorite team play. No good ball movement, good shots...etc.. this NBA 2k series these last few years have been better than the Madden and NCAA Football games, and I use to love those games, but NBA 2k has taken over.Comment

I survive in this game using basketball logi. Simple stuff like spread the court ... even if you stand closer to the half court line ..knowing when to usee full pressure shooting teams like the Warriors/Suns or when to sag off .. dunking teams like the Hawks, ... dribble angles that keep those all gm full court pressers honest ... I'll save you the sermon .. but all that stuff really works in the game. And I beat 90% of my opponents (cheesers and sims ) on pure chess type logic.
The most frustrating part for me comes when a cheeser .. ahem - abuser - wins and runs. Cause I usually see that like a game 1 surprise loss - If they are silly enough to play against me more than a few times .. they get figured out quick. The tough ones are the ones who sim just like you and know the gm -- they keep you honest, frustrated, but on point though. .. But yeah .. I watch the game and juist transfer the same concepts I notice to the game .. and they work ..for the most part. Check me on 360 if you're there .. stickz24. Later.

Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review
We've been saying this about kobe since his first screens in 2K10 came out, people say they listen to us,but this is such a glaring detail that none of the devs will address. He's the best player in the NBA - take some time, SIT with your artist and stay there until he gets it right. Same with Jordan.
I work with Maya and other software, we are at the point where we can get it 100% identical to real life. No excuses.
Also, I can't believe the tip passes/steals when a players back is turned is still in there. The most frustrating times are those, and a simple script code of "Player facing forward cannot steal ball behind him" logic would fix it after so many years.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review
Amazing especially without touching on the online portion. Sure, it's hard to tell now because the game isn't out, but that's a big part of the game...
I can't believe that game (after playing the demo) got a 9.5. I guess the Jordan stuff is really that important to people.

My screen-name is a combination of my favourite college football player in Tim Tebow and my favourite ever Bronco, Terrell Davis (30).Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review
how exciting. i actually think ign is pretty accurate for reviews.
its interesting how every year when a game is reviewed pre-release by IGN and its never particularly high everyone cries wolf and slams them for 1) not knowing how to play the game correctly 2) being paid off by EA or the sort.
And then when the game actually drops, all everyone does is complain about the bugs and the holes that cripple the game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 IGN Review
I think IGN gave NBA2K10 a pretty fair and good review and rating. The sad thing is they probably could have gave the game a 9.7 because they didn't really touch on the NBA Today feature, which is one of the greatest features to be in a video game, but the reviewer is at a disadvantage because the NBA Today feature really shines when the NBA season starts. Were as right now there are really know games, stats, info to show about the NBA season. 2K devs you out did yourselves this year, keep up the good work.Comment
