I have been playing Association mode a lot and have discovered a few of the issues the mode sees and also have work arounds for most of them. I'll list them here in hopes of helping some poor lad out there that hasn't found these little tricks out.
Bug: AI teams gives player the role of STARTER, but doesn't START the player. This leads to decrease morale from the player with the STARTER role.
Reason: The 1.2 update did something that caused this new phenomenon.
Example: The (AI) Lakers Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum. In my rosters Pau Gasol and Odom are both Power Forwards (Bynum Center). In this glitch Lakers dub both Odom and Gasol as Starters because their ratings are better than Bynum's. Bynum is the sixth man.
However since the update the cpu starts the best player at the position regardless of their role. Lamar Odom listed as Starter plays 36 minutes a game, but does so from off the bench. Bynum plays 27 minutes a game but as the starter. Their roles do not reflect this. As a result Odom's morale drops to 0 because he isn't starting even though his minutes are correct.
This happens anytime their is a player rated above 72 that is on a team with an ultra weak position (See Pistons lack of PF as another example of this).
The Fix: Change the positions of the players listed as the Starter. If you see a guy listed as a Starter but not starting change his primary position to the one where he is starting at.
Another example the Cavs will list Sessions and Mo Will as starters, but Sessions will come off the bench because his primary position is PG. Anthony Parker the 67 rated SG will start because he has the best rating of all SG's on that team (even though his role says ROLE PLAYER). If you change Sessions to SG he will start as his role indicates.
So, if you see a guy with 0 morale that's listed as a Starter and gets Starters minutes go into his player card and go all the way to the right under the STATS category. I bet his GS (games started) is at 0!
BOOM BIATCHES!
