Nelson was MIA and it hurt me a lot. The bottom line is the game feels like real basketball and has everything you expect to see.
Couldn't agree more! What a great game...! I'm playing on Pro-Sim and had a game where it was close for the best part of the game then started falling back in the 4th. I made a run but eventually lost. What's great is that after the game I knew what was the issues why I lost (Didn't protect the ball and didn't adjust to off ball pressure we were getting thrown against us)

Bottom line was I lost yet had a great time. Can't wait to be sure about sliders and start an association and My Player...

This is the real deal. Go get it. I have several videos uploaded: http://www.youtube.com/xrobbyh14x I hate that I have a life outside of this right now, haha. In all seriousness though, this is the best 2k game that's been out for quite some time.

Like i said in my earlier post I was playing bulls/spurs......at the end of the 3rd period I was down 75-70 to the spurs.....they killed me in the 4th and the game ended up being 117 to 87 spurs.....FG% was 48 spurs and 43 me....rebounds were spot on at 39 and 40 for 12 min qrts....but steals were way high, they ended up with 25 and 10 for myself....

one more question, are you all playing clutch factor off or on, right now i'm playing with it on.

        thanks

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)

This game is the best sports sim I've ever played. So far I've only played the Lakers vs. Bulls right out of the intro. The sig styles showed up right off the batt. Magic's push shot, Paxson's jumper, Michael felt just like he should. I had a few monster jams on breakaways, but did have some times where players should have kept breaking and stopped to allow the D to catch up. There was one weird graphical glitch where Michael went up for a dunk and then teleported to the other side of the basket. But overall, very minor. The postives are so far above any negatives, they don't even make me take note.

I was kinda bummed, MJ went down in a heap and ended up with a strained Achilles, out 2-4 weeks. That made things a lot harder! I still took the Lakers to OT and lost by 8. It was a battle all the way, with a whole lot of missed shots, and everything felt organic, not scripted. I'm really loving how the game makes you play fundimental ball, I tried my best to iso my way into the hoop, and it was ugly. But when I took my time and worked shots, it was a thing of beauty.

It's funny I'm not a big extra mode player, but can see myself playing the MJ mode a ton. To see the old Lakers and Magic was really great. Huge nostalgia for my old self. Peter Moore was way off base. For my demographic, this game is pure gold..... Long live Michael, the greatest ever! Great job, 2k. You have finally made a game worthy to be called NFL2k5's replacement! This is a classic.....

i'm not sure why everyone is saying the game is too hard. on just my second time playing the game, i was able to beat the heat using the cavs on sim/allstar settings. you just have to use icon lead passing to hit you cutting teammates and play good defense.

some of the sig dunk animations on Jordan Mode are a bit unrealistic. It's like they were trying so hard to make every dunk look like a classis MJ dunk...so sometimes the dunks don't look quite right because the siutation isn't right for that particular dunk.

it just seems like they were trying to make the dunks look "overly spectacular" in Jordan mode...Pippen and Jordan jump way too high in some of their dunks. i guess this mode is meant more for the casual crowd anyway.

however, i did see Lebron pull of a totally unrealistic rocket dunk...he only too one step toward the hoop and was able to launch himself from just under the freethrow line...too unrealistic, but it wasn't too terrible. but, it was on sim, so I was a bit surprised he could pull off such a ridiculous looking dunk on sim mode.

I don't think I've ever felt so inept in a first game of playing a b-ball game ever.

First few impressions after finally breaking away from playing the game:

                          Settings:
All Star Sim("out of box") 12 minute quarters.

This is the best basketball game I've ever played. From strategy to immersion to controls to presentation. All a very polished refined package. I have some minor issues which I will get to shortly but overall I'm blown away.

The A.I is no joke. I was getting blown out my first few games. Was tempted to bump it down to pro because of the turnovers, shot clock violations and miss attempts I was experiencing. I realized that I was working on "muscle memory" from 2k10. It really is an entirely new experience and takes many games to adjust to the gameplay mechanics.

Angles, just like in real life, play a huge role in this game especially with passing and penetrating. Icon lead passing is a MUST or you will pay the price. You can still score with some success without running plays but I would suggest you run plays in the halfcourt at least 80-85 percent of the time if you want to succeed on All Star Sim.

                          Pros:

Too many to name but a few.

                          - The amount of animations that are in this game is astounding. From contact layups, collisions, off ball movement the reworked isomotion. All done so so smoothly its beautiful to watch. The shot stick modifier presents so many different contextual animations its unbelievable.

                          - The play calling is superb. Players get into their sets quicker and with the "on the fly" playcalling with the LB button(360), I rarely have an instance where I scramble to execute like last year. Add to that to the new off ball movement animations and playing in half court has never been so much fun.

                          - Stars play like stars and the A.I makes damn sure it gets them the ball. Dirk Nowitzki couldnt miss from midrange and Kidd kept feeding him the ball on the wing until I put Noah on him instead of Boozer(Czar def settings vid).

                          Cons:

                          - I find the Hop-Step Dunk is much too effective IMO. Especially with guys like Lebron and Wade. I'll have two guys waiting in the paint to intiate contact and the A.I with Hop Step into the paint and dunk on both of them. Many times for a three point play.

                          - Is it just me or do your A.I teamates rarely box out on shot attempts? I was Chicago playing against the Grizzlies and Gasol was destroying me on the glass. He had 20 rebounds in the game and many times jumped over both Noah and Boozer for rebounds. I find some players who shoudn't have high vertical are leaping over players a little unrealistically for rebounds.
