I'm having so much fun using the Classic rosters. Magic Johnson is my all-time favorite player and it's really a treat for me to use him in the game. I loved that 90-91 Lakers squad; Magic became more of a scorer that year and Perkins was a real nice pickup. Anyway, with Magic I've seen several nice no-look pass animations and he's also had a couple of behind-the-back dimes as well.
I'm really liking the fact that plays work 100% better than in prior 2K games. Yes from time-to-time you'll get a busted play due to the CPU defense interrupting the flow, but that's OK and it should be that way. There's no better feeling though when you properly run a play and score 2 (or 3) points.
I bumped up the difficulty to All-Star/Simulation today and that feels about right. Shooting percentages for myself and the CPU are still on the low end, but I'm not ready to tweak sliders yet. I am still learning the Isomotion controls, but thanks to some tips from Czar, I'm quickly improving. The video that's currently up on the home page was a big help to me and I've been able to incorporate a lot of what Czar was talking about into my own game.
I've been playing 8-10 minute games just so I can run with a bunch of different squads before starting Association. I just have to figure out if I want to run with the Nuggets or Thunder. I like both teams (I know it's weird that they are in the same division, but I really only follow the Nuggets b/c of 'Melo. If he gets traded, I'll cheer for that team along with the Thunder, who are just a blast to watch and I got to see in person in OKC last year) and it's a tough call b/c both are fun to use in the game.
The Player of the Game highlight package is just jaw-dropping. Never seen anything like that.
This game feels like 4 games in 1. You have Play Now/NBA Today, Association, Jordan and MyPlayer. There's so much to do and I've only scratched the surface. 2K really outdid themselves this year. Kudos, guys!
Now, if I can just figure out how to get Custom Sounds onto my 360 (I don't have Windows MP and don't have a CD burner), that would really put this game over the top.
