The crowd is the best in any sports game I've played, though.Comment

Had a post that got shut down after two posts about CPU free throws because this thread needs to be more cluttered, I guess. Anyway, is anyone else noticing the CPU rarely if ever misses free throws? Not going to repeat the whole post, but it seems the game shoots +85% every single game, no matter the team. This is on All-Star/Sim. Starting to really frustrate me.Comment

I have the game on all-star sim. I swear, it's happened to me 10 games in a row. Swish after swish after swish. Literally I'll be lucky if they shoot under 80% at the line. And like I said, it really swings the game in the CPU's favor, frustratingly so, when the games are always so close on all-star and above.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)
Man, there are some things holding this game back now. Most have been talked about, but I gotta voice my frustrations.
I don't know what is going on with this game under the hood after all the rumored tweaks and stuff the past few days, but inside shooting on all-star/sim seems to have become increasingly difficult. Everything I'm putting up is getting caught in an animation, even after pump fakes. 3 point shooting for me is now atrocious, whereas it was fine the first two weeks. Just went 3-21 with the Suns, most wide open looks by Nash and Dudley. Cannot make a 3 to save my life, and it costs me game after game.
The CPU "spirtability" (I like how they gave the cpu run AI a name so it seems less cheap) also seems more drastic. Literally I suddenly can't hit a single shot while the CPU drains fadeaways, 3's, and stuffs home dunks. I'm making adjustments (defensive matchups, pressure, etc.), but nothing's working. It happens at the second half of the third quarter every game. Then when the fourth starts, they're up 10 and suddenly the game plays normal again. I seriously am starting to wonder if all-star may be more cheap than superstar. Pro is too easy, so I'm stuck in no mans land not enjoying the game anymore.
I thought I wouldn't have to tweak sliders this year, but I think that's becoming a pipe dream with how low these shooting percentages are turning out...Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)
I can attest to the fact that the game is a huge cheating piece of ****. I join the Jazz, and suddenly their 80's and 90's players suddenly can't hit a shot late. This is the same team that was routing my team in the previous year.
Oh, and there's no sliders in My Player.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)
Im sorry man....but All Star really isnt that difficult....I can see maybe Superstar or Hall Of Fame...but All Star is a great medium....even if I play on default with the only change being clutch off. Very sporatic games: win by 5, lose by 3, win by 12....all the games are different.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)
I was beating the hell out of the Suns going into the fourth quarter by about 18 points.
Then, in the 4th, the Suns become the 90's Bulls and score 48 points on 94% shooting while I become the 2001 Cavs and shoot 14% and score 15 points.
I'm not one to bitch and moan about comeback AI but...Come on, son.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Sounds like you have to turn the clutch ratings for the CPU to 0%.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K11 Impressions Thread (360, PS3)
I have been playing this game for about 2 weeks now fairly regularly. Its an All-Time Great.
I play on Pro with some slider adjustments I have made over the course of like 25 games with the Suns or so. Its amazing how varied the games are. The AI in this game is really top of the line, no other Sport game that I have played comes close to it. For all you old school guys, it reminds me alot of ID2004. You really need to learn how to shoot all the momentum shots. They look amazing and WORK. Use em!
The best part is that I only have the level on friggin PRO, which gives me alot of room to improve and bump up the difficulty for the CPU.
Amazing game 2K. Its for sure Hard, the controls are pretty intense, and you need patience to learn everything, but it is well worth it.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment
