I have "Amazing" by Kanye West in my POTG playlist, and just finished an online game with the Jazz. Not only did my music play for the online POTG, but at one point it zoomed in on the "Where Amazing Happens" under the basket...ah, one of the greatest moments of my life. I tried it like 20 times to get it to do it again and no dice...just one of those rare things that make you smile

Re: The Little Things Thread
3min left in the 4th quarter, I've trimmed the Magic lead to 6. Rose has been a handful; cpu has had problems containing him (25pts 6assists). I notice the cpu trying to double Rose, hit Deng on the wing for a 3. Crowd is going crazy, cpu calls timeout. The various camera shots of the crowd all standing pumping their fists during the timeout is amazingHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: The Little Things Thread
I love the various things Jordan does after hitting a big shot:
1. The fist pump
2. The yell
3. The shoulder shrug
4. The tongue wagging
I also like it when you pass to an open player after driving the lane and they hit a jumper they will point at you while running back on defense.
The steal animation where both players stumble for the ball that is rolling on the floor.
The way the cpu swing the ball around is amazing.
How if you keep missing your shots the announcers will say something like, "I don't know why he keeps throwing up shots from that spot, if it isn't falling move to another spot"
I also like how when you play your rival team, all the players be very animated after every play, whether it be a shot, a block or a steal. Rival games atmosphere be on a whole other level.
They managed to capture Bill Cartwright funky shooting form perfectly.
I like how the different eras of Jordan play differently. The 80s Jordan was more of a high flyer, inside scorer, the early 90s Jordan was a dual threat he could shoot 3s as well drive to the hole, the late 90s Jordan relied more on his post game and mid range jump shots.
I like how now there is way more off the ball foul calls. Get calls on moving screens and moving picks now.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
Playing with drafted teams in our friendly league, I come up the lane with Chris Paul and lay it off he glass to Melo, who slams it home so hard that it knocks out the play/time clock above the backboard for a few seconds.
Breaking flow of the commentary and returning to it after remarking on the action at hand to continue the story.
Late in the 4th quarter on the road, JR Smith hits a huge 3 pointer to give me an 8 point lead with about a minute left. As he fades back down the court he puts a finger to his mouth and tells the crowd to be quiet.NFL: Green Bay Packers

Re: The Little Things Thread
-Pacers arena plays Indy car noises (not sure if that was in last year?)
-Drove hard with Wade, CPU undercut him in the air and he took a nasty fall. Some great collisions this year!
-Opening possession Dwight Howard gets hard foul tackle by Brendan Hayward, who stands over him on ground. Howard misses both free throws, I feed Hayward in post next possession and refs call ticky-tack foul on Howard. He puts arms up in disgust, immediate cut scene to Van Gundy pacing sidelines, pointing and yelling at refs!
-Jason Kidd chest passes seem to be signature! Awesome.
-I played Heat vs Lakers game last night and it felt like I was watching the game on tv, even though I was playing?!?
-Made a three with LeBron and he made the three sign with his right hand (last three fingers)
-Saw Boozer do a one handed rebound.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
This was pretty cool... Played the Thunder and they overthrew a pass to halfcourt. As Rose went to grab it, I call a timeout. Camera pans out to DRose as he runs for the ball and everyone is going to the bench.
Grabs the ball, looks at it, dribbles twice, and then shoots the ball, then runs to the bench.
Sweet!
Another thing thats awesome.. Me and my buddy always create ourselves in the game and put each other on the same team and see if we can win a ship. Well on the first game of the season, play stops, and the announcers say "Theres an injury on the floor" we look and it's my buddy down on the floor holding his ankle. I laugh so hard saying sucks to be you! Out for the season!
We watch the replay and it clearly shows his player landing on Boozer's foot after a rebound. Best part was that he was clutching the same ankle!!!Last edited by shugknight; 10-08-2010, 11:23 AM.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
Speaking of this, I was playing against the '86 Celtics and Bird threw a pass to a cutter that looked just like one of his IRL. You know the kind where he has his back to the guy and throws a no-looker with both hands. Didn't notice it in real time but it was on the post-game highlight reel. Had to watch it twice!

Re: The Little Things Thread
Really love how players mouths move after questionable calls. You can literally lip read what they are saying and its usually expletives. I might be seeing things, but I doubt it because its happened multiple times.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
you remind of a game I played lastnight with the heat...well it was practice mode,,but even in practice mode I saw the coach givng the ref a good jab session and flailing his arms back and forth because one of his players got fouled going to the hole..I was crackin up watching the replayJambroComment

Re: The Little Things Thread
What I love in this game is how everyone plays EXACTLY like they do in real life that it's almost scary. I'm doing a My Player on the T'Wolves and we were going up against the Grizzlies. Zach Randolph was just a monster on the offensive glass and was showing Kevin Love that he isn't that great yet. Turnaround Js, baby hooks, lay-ups that drew contact, he was just using everything. The best part? No Dunks. He would barely get off the ground.
In the summer league, Wesley Johnson was a ball hog, and at first I was getting pissed because I wasn't getting the ball, then I realized that he is trying to show off for a starting spot. It's the same way in the Combine games, you have to try hard to get the ball in your hands because everyone is trying to show their worth.Comment

Re: The Little Things Thread
I had Jeff Foster knock over the mop man after jumping to block a shot and then stumbling on his landing.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: The Little Things Thread
I love to read this thread!
Also juggling rebounds and passes are amazing to me and the fact that they could lead into a steal is cool.
Also playing a Heat vs. Nuggets game I do a long in bound pass to Lebron at half court. And he stops it behind him causing Lebron to dribble with one hand behind him while Afflalo goes in for the steal Lebron quickly shifts the ball around his back to the other hand. Leaving Afflalo in the dust.
It looked so amazing.Comment
