Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I think if the Spurs were playing terrible IRL, and Duncan wanted out, they would do it. Okur, if I remember right, only has a year or two left on his contract and Millsap is more than just an average PF. He won't replace Duncan as the face of the Spurs, but he is talented enough to help them out. Plus, he's still pretty young.
And Duncan would fit perfectly on the Jazz.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Don't do it!
Of course your team would be quite talented, but I suspect you'll find the overall experience somewhat underwhelming. There's a certain satisfaction to building "your" team and achieving success within the framework of the story that you create. In my mind, trading for LeBron James is not just taking the easy way out, it's also taking the less compelling way.
You mentioned how you wanted to build a defensive squad, and while James is certainly an elite defender, I think you'll lose the charm of those various role players doing what they do. You probably do have excessive depth, and targeting additional scoring from the wing makes tons of sense for your roster. I just think you should be looking a tier or two below the highest rated player in the game.
What you'll end up with is a radically different feel to your team and even though you should be quite successful, you're going to spend a lot of your time isolating with Rose and James and just overpowering your opponents by attacking the basket with those two players. That gets old fast.
If you insist on acquiring a star player to pair with Rose, you should consider someone with a different skill set. If you can find a shooter at the 2 without trading Deng, you'll have a very diverse set of scoring options with a penetrator/distributor at the 1, a shooter/scorer at the 2, a multi-talented 3, a post scorer at the 4, and an offensive rebounder/finisher at the 5.
In terms of realism, aside from questionable AI, why would Miami trade James for a pile of role players and 2 draft picks well removed from the lottery? And even if this could be justified, don't you want to go through the Heat for maximum satisfaction on your own playoff run?
So bottom line, I think your team would obviously be better with LeBron, but I don't think it's the most enjoyable scenario you can come up with.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I was messing around looking for a trade after my first game with the Warriors, we won 75-81 but Monta Ellis played terrible. Made me wonder what I could get for him. My first thought was that I'd rather have George Hill, his shot in the game is just better and he's just as efficient, a better defender, and for a cheaper price. Right now they're offering me Tim Duncan and George Hill for David Lee and Monta Ellis. There's two reasons why I don't want to do this, 1. my Spurs aren't ever getting rid of Dunan - 2. David Lee's much younger and lights out from midrange. I'm interested to hear opinions, but I'm hoping to just do a straight up Monta Ellis for George Hill and maybe a draft pick or player I can develop. I'm even considering whether or not they'd add RJ to the deal since he'd make the contracts work out.Comment

I started this Pistons association cause I was bored and looked around for a PG to build around I settled on Westbrook so I went and tried a trade.
Pistons
Monroe
Stuckey
2011 1st
For
Westbrook
Ibaka
I was shocked when the AI accepted this trade. Dummies. Its so far from realistic its almost sickening. But im gonna roll with it cause I want Westbrook and Ibaka had a triple double for me earlier this week 20pts 11rbds 10 blocks...that was the first time id ever pulled that off. The odd thing is if I do the trade right when I start they accept but if I reverse it and try and get them back they decline. The ai actually feels they got the better end of the deal.
Btw anyone have any advice on trying to get rid of Hamilton? He is kind of a dilemma player cause he's a 77 but regressing so you can't get much back. When he is your #2 option its hard for me to let him go for nothing. Any suggestions?Comment

Grant Hill is my starting SF on the "what could have been" team. Met him at Detroit airport 12 years ago and got his autograph, unfortunately i didn't have a trading card with me at the time lol.Lakers | Michigan | DodgersComment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I had Deng go down early in the season of my Bulls association and I had to make a move.
I traded Scalabrine, Joe Johnson (the Bulls Johnson, not the Hawks Johnson), and next years 2nd round pick for Damion James and I couldn't be happier. The guy is a beast on the boatrds, scores abou 15 points a game, D's up the other teams best guy, and 10 games later I've inserted him into the starting line-up.
My Line-up now looks like this:
PG - Derrick Rose
SG - Luol Deng
SF - Damion James
PF - Carlos Boozer
C - Joakim Noah
Bench:
PG - C.J. Watson
SG - Cory Brewer
SF - Kyle Korver
PF - Taj Gibson
C - Kurt Thomas
Love having a big line-up. Size wins in the NBA and the same can be said for NBA 2k11, it's very important.
I'm two games from the all-star break and currently sit 4th in the Eastern Conference behind Boston, Miami, and Atlanta. I'm making a strong push recently going 7-3 in my last 10 including a win over the Heat last night. Should be a great second half of the season.
Have any of you guys had a chance to play with Damion James at all? Love his athleticism and size, plus he has a B+ for potential so I'm hoping for big things in the future from this 23 year old.Comment

I dont see why this is a dumb trade for okc, yes they lose westbrook but you get monroe who is a better passer in the post then ibaka, and stuckey who develops into a better shooting version of d-wade. You also get a lottery pick in a draft where you can get either enes kanter, donatas motiejunas, fab melo, brandon knight, or kyrie irving. And eric maynor is a very underrated pg and could easily start for this team and i think is more developed as a point guard than westbrook. You could have a line up of
PG- Maynor
SG- Stuckey
SF-Durant
PF- Monroe
C- Aldrich

Ya man he's a nice player. I love his toughness, size, and physicality. I'm working on developing his mid-range jumper but he's a great, versatile player to have as he can play SG, SF, or PF.Comment
