Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Made a bunch of trades in a new Pacers chise I wanted to try. I'm not going to list everything trade by trade, and I won't list all of the bench warmers.

        Indiana gets:
        James Harden
        Rodney Stuckey
        Gordon Hayward
        JJ Hickson

        Cleveland gets:
        IND 2012 First Round
        Brandon Rush

        OKC gets:
        Danny Granger

        Utah gets:
        Cole Aldrich
        2011 IND First Round

        Detroit gets:
        Cap relief

        Minnesota gets:
        Rip Hamilton

Not entirely realistic, but not too much of a stretch either. OKC's first rounder is floating out there somewhere, just didn't remember.

        My rotation is legit now:

        PG Collison
SG Stuckey (Rating goes to a 79 when switched to his true position)
        SF George
        PF Hickson
        C Hibbert
        6 Harden
        7 Hansbrough
        8 Hayward
        9 Foster (only if needed)

i try to keep trades as fair as I can and it seemed this was the fairest way to go however i see that I have given them a lot and receiving a little. i do like the noah for bynum deal as it gives both young centers in their prime. i like to use bynum as my low post scorer.

I'm Detroit, would like feedback on whether or not this trade is fair for all teams?

WAS receives Ben Gordon, DET '12 1st
            MIN receives DeAndre Jordan[from WAS]
DET receives Wes Johnson, Josh Howard[from WAS]

Background: Nick Young left in FA, MIN drafted a SG with #2 pick, Jordan won't be happy backing up McGee, i'm looking for younger talent [plus I just can't get Gordon's shot timing]. My pick is valuable b/c i went 21-61 last year and am 5-11 so far. Howard's a filler to make the money add up.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

In my Celtics franchise, Minnesota offered to me (out of the blue, I might add) Kevin Love in exchange for Jeff Green and Shaquille O'Neal, which was quite odd. I denied that trade, because I really didn't see how it made much sense for either team.

A couple of games later, I read that Dahntay Jones was probably going to be traded by Indiana. I used trade finder to see what it would take to acquire him, and the best deal I could see was the following:

Indiana receives: Nenad Krstic, Glen Davis

Boston receives: James Posey, Dahntay Jones

Both Krstic and Davis are expiring contracts, and I'm not really planning on resigning them, anyway. I really like both Jones and Posey, but Posey is kind of old and has a longer deal (don't remember how many years- 3, maybe?) and already has a relatively low rating (69, I think).

Any thoughts on the trade? Do it, don't do it, anything that I could add to it to make it more even?

Edit: I'm in my first season, and both teams have their post-deadline real life rosters (or at least something damn close to it).

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I haven't actually done this Association but just something I was thinking about while watching games the other night.

Kings trade Cousins, Udrih & Garcia to the Raptors for Bargnani, Calderon, 1st Round Pick

The Kings would then use their two Top 10 picks on two building blocks like maybe Derrick Williams and Enes Kanter.

Calderon, Evans, Williams, Bargnani, Kanter with Thornton and Thompson as the main subs.

What do you think of that idea for trying to continue the Kings rebuild? Raptors get the best prospect (Cousins) and two good players. They also shed two large contracts in Bargnani and Calderon. Sacramento gets 2 more established players to go along with a very young lineup. They'd also still have a lot of cap space to fill in the roster. I think Bargnani moved to the 4 in the game would be effective.

Another thing I'm considering in my Celtics franchise is trading Avery Bradley. He is playing very well and has tons of potential, and he fits in my defensive-minded scheme. However, with Rondo on the team, Bradley is never going to get the minutes he'll deserve when he develops. I'd rather just continue to have veterans behind Rondo (West and Arroyo), but I don't want Bradley to waste on the bench. I also don't think his size is good enough to have him be a good SG off the bench... I like West a lot more as a SG than Bradley.

Any ideas about what I should do with him? I'm very open to trading Bradley and Davis, as Davis won't be resigned by me and Bradley will never get significant minutes on my team. I don't mind throwing in picks or scrubs (Krstic, Pavlovic, Wafer, etc) either, as long as I feel that the trade makes decent sense for both teams. I prefer players who play good defense, and wouldn't mind adding some young players at positions other than PG and SF (Rondo and Green) to replace the old guys in a few years.

Maybe JJ Hickson or Anthony Randolph if those trades work?

You could trade him for a JJ Hickson, Greg Oden(Probably have to throw in a pick for Oden) Marcus Thornton(Iffy on D but he can fill it up), Wesley Johnson(Great Defender and pretty good shooter) Wesley Matthews, Javalee Mcgee (You'd probably have to find a 3rd team since the Wiz have Wall they wouldn't really need another young developing pg)

and I have 2 rookies in the D-League

As you may guess I have absolutely no picks for the next two years and I'm bit over the cap so I'm pretty much stuck with this team for a good amount of years.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I made a few big-ish trades during the 2011-12 season, controlling all 30 teams, just to give a different look to some teams

                            Trade 1:

                            Orlando Gets:
Kyle Lowry (Orlando ended up making it to the WCF in 2012 with Lowry)

                            Houston Gets:
                            Jameer Nelson

                            Trade 2:
                            Miami gets:
                            Andray Blatche

                            Washington Gets:
                            Mike Miller

                            Trade 3:
                            San Antonio Gets:
                            Robin Lopez (PHX)
                            Lawal (PHX)

                            Phoenix Gets:
                            Neal (SAS)
                            Anderson (ORL)

                            Orlando Gets:
                            Bonner (SAS)

                            Trade 4:
                            Philly Gets:
                            Yi Jianlian

                            Washington Gets:
                            Evan Turner

Trade 5 (Basically to get Iggy and Brand out of PHI and Hamilton and Price out of DET)
                            Lakers Get:
                            Prince (DET)
                            13 1st Rd Pick

                            Detroit Gets:
                            Iguodala (PHI)
                            Brand (PHI)

                            Philly Gets:
                            Artest (LAL)
                            Hamilton (DET)
                            Blake (LAL)
                            13 1st Rd Pick

                            Trade 6:
                            Chicago Gets:
DeRozan (gives them proper starting SG)
                            Calderon

                            Toronto gets:
                            Brewer
                            Watson
                            13 1st Rd Pick

                              Orlando Magic trade:
                              Patrick Beverly, PG - $1.35M - 1 YEAR
                              1st Round Pick (Magic) - (22-30 range)
                              1st Round Pick (Clippers) - (17-24 range)
                              2nd Round Pick (Clippers) - (47-54 range)

                              Boston Celtics trade:
                              Avery Bradley, PG - $1.45M - 2+2 YEARS
                              1st Round Pick (Celtics) - (25-30 range)

                              Reason:
Jameer Nelson is injured for 2 weeks and has been on-off injured all season and although Arenas was playing well I don't have a capable back-up (Beverley has sucked) I really liked Bradley's speed, defensive ability and potential, I am looking to play more Run'N'Gun but with good perimeter defending, the idea to foce bad shots, Howard rebound and outlet to Bradley for the fast break. I didnt want to give up so many picks, but the draft is really poor (no imported draft) with only one A+ potential player so I wasn't too bothered, I still managed to get the Celtics to give up their 1st, so not all bad.

                              Orlando Magic trade:
                              Jason Richardson, SG - $14.5M - 1 YEAR
                              DeJuan Blair, PF - £971K - 1 + 1 YEAR

                              Charlotte Bobcats trade:
                              Tyrus Thomas, PF - $50M - 6 YEARS
                              Nazr Mohammed, C - $6.75M - 1 YEAR
1st Round Pick (Bobcats) (8-15 range)

                              Reason:
DeJuan Blair was struggling, he doesn't have a good mid-range jumper and he wasn't rebounding well for me. Jason Richardson has been a stud but as he is a free agent, I figured I'd get something for him so I can contend next year. want to play a quicker tempo game so trading DaJuan Blair for Tyrus Thomas at the PF position is a no brainer. Thomas is more athletic, better on transition D and is a better rebounder (for some reason) he also has a decent mid-range J. the 1st Round Pick is a bonus, hopefully I'll have some luck in the lottery and get into the Top 5 and be able to grab a stud wingman.

Good call on Blair. I've been frustrated with him during my Spurs Association and wound up using Tiago Splitter more and more. Blair's size seems to be more of an issue in the game then it is in real life for him.
