Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I have the opportunity to accept this trade in association mode...

    I give:

SF Dorell Wright 77 ovr 25 age D potential
Kings (above average team) 2nd round pick next season
Hawks (slightly below .500 team) 2nd round pick this season

    Computer gives:

SF Grant Hill 80 ovr 38 age (said he was retiring at end of season)
C Timothy Mozgof 62 overall 24 age (couldn't care less about him, only for cap reasons)
    Pacers (22-15) 1st Round Pick

My backup SF is CDR who is 71 ovr and 24 age along with something like C potential. When Hill retires I'd either start him or someone from the draft.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Got offered a trade by the Lakers but unsure whether to accept it or not.

      Heat receive;

      A. Bynum,
      L. Walton.

      Lakers receive;

      C. Bosh,
      Z. Ilgauskas,
'11 1st round pick from Nuggets.

I'd be very tempted to accept due to how much Bynum could end up dominating on the inside and also the fact he has a higher trade value I could end up getting a bit more if it didn't work out. However I have DeAndre Jordan who is playing well in the Center position and bringing in Bynum will result in him not gaining a lot of time and improving. I'd also be unsure on how many games I could get out of Bynum and if he is effective on the game.

Thoughts and help will be appreciated.

I just rated a trade that netted Dwight, that'd obviously be preferable.

I wish trading draft picks wasn't so easy in this game. I (Celtics) managed to have the #1 overall, #4, #5, and #13 pick in the 2011 draft. Only had to give up Glen Davis, Shaq, and West. That was only a test run, but seriously, I shouldn't be able to win the championship and get a handful of the top rookies coming in.

Rebuilding the Cavaliers. Started the association and fixed the draft picks. Turned off trading and simmed the first season, Spurs won it all.

                      Drafted:
                      Rd1 Pick1 P. Jones (73ovr)
                      Rd1 Pick4 H. Barnes (69ovr)
                      Traded R.Sessions, R.Hollins for Pistons: C.Villanueva and Rd1 Pick9
                      Sessions wanted a trade.
                      Rd1 Pick9 M.Campbell (70ovr) <-- My player lock custom player
                      Rd2 Pick3 J.Freddette (62ovr)

                      Second Season Trades:
                      Cleveland: J.Hickson, A.Jamison, L.Harangody
                      Portland: L.Aldridge, W.Matthews, R.Fernandez, '13 1st Round Pick
                      W.Matthews wanted a trade.

                      Cleveland: D.Gibson '12 2nd Round Pick
                      OKC: C.Aldrich
Gibson was wanting a trade after the first season and I could use a good defensive backup center.

                      Cleveland: J.Graham '13 2nd Round Pick
                      Washington: '12 1st Round Pick
Got rid of Graham since he has 1 year left and I want to develop my rookies.

                      Cleveland: B.Davis, C.Eyenga
                      LAL: R.Artest, L.Walton
Really needed a SF to fill in while I develop the young guys, LA wants a PG since Fisher retired. Artest was not happy on the lakers.

All the trades were done with Trade Finder without any editing from me.

I find it very hard to believe those trades were all found through Trade Finder without any editing from you. The Blazers would never give up Aldridge, Matthews, Fernandez, and a 1st Round Pick for Hickson, an aging Jamison, and a low rated rookie.

Also, I highly doubt the Wizards would trade a 1st round pick for Joey Graham and a 2nd rounder. Other than that, the other two look alright.

Did you get those rosters off of roster share? I haven't used it yet, but I would love to get rosters from that era for the specific reason that the Kings were actually great back then lol.

As for the trade, as a Kings fan, I can tell you they would not of parted with Webber for anything less then another superstar. So that trade would not of been realistic for the time period.

With my ancient, defensive-minded Celtics, I am taking a win now attitude towards my season. I made this trade:

                              Boston gets:
Ben Wallace- Ancient, but plays fantastic defense and actually rebounds, unlike the rest of my team
Will Bynum- Veteran, plays good defense, will make a good backup for Rondo
Dajuan Summers- Haven't played with him, but he is young and has C+ potential, which could make him a decent throw-in for a future trade, I guess.

                              Detroit gets:
Avery Bradley- 19 years old, plays fantastic defense, decent shooter, good potential
                              Nenad Krstic- Decent offensive player
                              2nd round draft pick

Basically, I really like Avery Bradley, but I know that he will never play much since Rondo plays a lot of minutes and I have West coming off the bench. Now I can have Rondo play as many minutes as I want him to without feeling bad about not developing Bradley, and I have West/Bynum/Arroyo to come off the bench. Bradley can get a lot more minutes at the PG and SG positions on a crappy, rebuilding Pistons team.

With the addition of Ben Wallace, I now have a group of big men who are all ancient, but they play well in limited roles. Come playoff team I'll give all of them more minutes, but for the regular season Glen Davis and Troy Murphy will play a lot of minutes to keep KG/Shaq/JO/Wallace from getting exhausted or injured.

I'm going to see if I can maybe find a way to get rid of Davis now, but I'll probably wait until closer to the deadline because without him and Krstic I have no young big men to play the 4 and 5. I don't particularly like Davis, he is undersized and doesn't play defense, and I have no intention of resigning him at the end of the season. I figure it'd be best to try and get something for him.

                              Rondo/Bynum/Arroyo
                              Allen/West/Wafer
                              Pierce/Green/Summers
                              KG/Davis/Murphy
                              Shaq/JO/Wallace

Currently Arroyo, Wafer, and Summers are inactive, so my active depth chart is:

Rondo/Bynum/West (I let Bynum play PG because West plays so much SG)
Allen/West/Pierce (West plays a lot of SG to keep Allen fresh)
Pierce/Green (each play about half the game)
KG/Davis//Murphy (Davis plays most of the game to keep ancient guys fresh)
Shaq/JO/Wallace (All of these guys play small amounts of minutes)

                                Boston gets:
Ben Wallace- Ancient, but plays fantastic defense and actually rebounds, unlike the rest of my team
Will Bynum- Veteran, plays good defense, will make a good backup for Rondo
Dajuan Summers- Haven't played with him, but he is young and has C+ potential, which could make him a decent throw-in for a future trade, I guess.

                                Detroit gets:
Avery Bradley- 19 years old, plays fantastic defense, decent shooter, good potential
                                Nenad Krstic- Decent offensive player

Parting ways with Avery Bradley was one of the toughest things for me in my current Association haha. I Never thought about trying to pick up Ben Wallace though, that's nice. And you should use Wafer more, he's amazing on this game for some reason, haha.
