So is My Player not as impossibly difficult as some of the reviews are stating? Or do you just have to play 10+ minute quarters in order to get the stats required to progress and meet milestones?
I'm still perfectly happy with playing CH 2k8 every year when College Bball season rolls around but My Player and MJ mode have me intrigued. Is it worth getting the game just for that? Since I don't have a ton of time to game the required time investment is also a factor for me. How long does it take to play a My Player game and for those who've been through it in 2k10 how much time is generally needed to get through 5 years of the mode?
Sorry for asking these questions in this thread but I figured since its dedicated to My Player I should get the best answers here.

the guy who wrote that review, he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. seriously

You can adjust quarter length so you can definitely speed up the gameplay. The AI will change objectives accordingly.

You can also sim entire games if you want to make a point of going through seasons quickly. It'll be harder to become a great player then though because you only get skillpoints for games played.
Get that weak stuff outta here!

I just wanted to know if you can adjust Season Length in my player mode, 82 Games is just to long, and by the end of the 1st season you were way to good in 2k10.

Thanks for the quick answer. I'd also like to know whether you can adjust season length like Patan posted above.

Hey how many minute quarters are most of you guys playing?

Also, after starting your My Player, can you adjust the length of quarters or is it locked in from the start?

Re: How's your My Player Going? (2k11)

I created a 6'5" PG (wanted to be like Magic in a way), but I put it on All-Star and looking back on the combine that was probably a mistake. I had good stats for scoring, rebounding, and assists, but never got higher then a B for a grade because I never seemed to get credit for a good shot. I'd think it was a great shot and I'd make it and get nothing.

That and constantly getting blamed for people scoring when it wasn't my man but I was just the closest cause I was trying to help my teammate.

Got drafted by the Wizards which sucks cause they got John Wall already, plus I'm not a fan.

Anyone know if you can get on a different team, or should I just throw the summer circut and purposely not make the team and try to work my way onto another team?

Just because you make the shot does not mean it's a good shot. It's just like in real life, not all shots that go in are smart shots.

On defense, just because it's not your man doesn't mean it's not your responsibility. If you are the closest player to the man with the ball, then he becomes your responsibility. For example, if you go down to help play D against Dwight Howard, then he kicks it to Carter and you are closest to him...you are responsible for him. Is that 100% fair? Not really, but that's why basketball is about team...you can start all of the best individual defensive players on one team and they won't be able to stop anybody unless they play like a team.

I think you need learn a bit more about basketball before you complain about the game.
"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed"

I also desperately want to know this?

Let's say you can adjust it to 29 game seasons, is the amount of skill points you get after a game adjusted accordingly? So that it won't be a case of:

                        • If you play 82 games a season you can become MJ in 2 seasons
                        • but if you play 29 game seasons you can't become Steve Kerr in 20 seasons

Can someone explain to me how I do the "crossover" trick in the Dribbling Course drill for My Player? I mean I do like 8 crossovers before the cone and it never says I pull it off lol...kind of irritating. Do I have to do it at a specific time (yeh, I'm doing it before I approach the cone with 3 arrows AND while I'm at it) for it to work?

I tried to make myself accurately, 6'3" Athletic PG. Got drafted 12th in the second round by Miami which was perfect as they have such bad PGs but such a good team.

They're starting Dwade in PG with Miller in SG just so they don't have to start me or Carlos Arroyo which I think is hilarious. So basically my plan is to improve and start alongside Wade, James, Bosh, Ilgauskas.

I wanted to make a pick and roll style player but since getting drafted by Miami I've been working on attributes that will help me get our stars into the game. Building up good rapport with Bosh and Haslem, however it sucks when they give me minutes in SG and having Arroyo bring the ball up.

im happy to say that my 7' defensive center can finally dunk! ridiculous that i need to build up his dunk rating to make him throw down something simple...

height should be tied in to the dunk rating....

drafted first round 28th to the Grizz

now that im able to dunk i can work on his mid range and post game...

I created a 6'1" point guard and was drafted as the 29th pick (first round) by the Blazers. I was initially projected to go a little higher to the Thunder.

I play on the default difficulty as of now. First....so I can get a handle on all of the new additions....Second, I want to make sure myy guy is not like a 45 playing against elite pgs on HOF lol.

The quarter length I use is 8 minutes. Right now I'm averaging 18 points and 5 assists a game. Last night I had two 40 point games but they both froze after the game. I don't know if being connected online affected it or what.....weird.....

I outplay Andre Miller and B ROY is a ballhog lol......I will wait it out about 10 more games and then ask for a trade if things don't change.....I have been a jerk in press conferences some days lol......Nate McMillan knows I'm hot at him
