Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
Looks to be the only workaround right now unfortunately. Might as well move forward with controlling 30 teams or go back to Dead Rising until 2k patches this.Last edited by pdandy; 10-09-2010, 03:06 PM.Comment

Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
my 67 rated rookie progress to 88 in 7 years...with only 73 POT (Had 6 productive years)
Apparently, there's another bug where players who doesnt get any PT are looked at as DLeague players and are improving 1-3 points (oppose to 3-5 pts if productive)
Despite being in the FA (dont have a problem with that as its like they are playing over seas) or sitting on the IR all year long without touch a single BB court (his OVR shouldnt jump but I can see a couple of attributes improving)
Atleast Regression is good, Cousins went from 90 to 80 in 3 yearsLast edited by Jukeman; 10-09-2010, 02:53 PM.Comment

I think that production comes from potential, I could be wrong, but that's what i'm going with.my 67 rated rookie progress to 88 in 7 years...with only 73 POT (Had 6 productive years)

Also, I gave in guys, i'm going to do 30 team Association, it pains me to do it, but I have to. I can't take the non-realism any longer. So it looks like i'll be doing this until a patch comes out.Comment

First I really appreciate your work on this. I've read a lot in this thread but if you wouldnt mind could you either here or open another thread with your thoughts and opinion on doing a association controlling all 30 teams.I think that production comes from potential, I could be wrong, but that's what i'm going with.

Just to clean it up for everyone. Example your recommendations and reasons.
Also I have some sliders if you would like to try.
Thanks to you and everyone that brought this to light !!Comment

Nah, Potential has more affect on a player's value then it does progressionI think that production comes from potential, I could be wrong, but that's what i'm going with.

I made the same guy (loaded the class twice) with a 25 POT rating and he still jumped 20 points granted he did start most of his career and had great seasons
Also the {OT rating progresses as well.
Back to my 67 rated rookie:
At 26 (In his prime) he jumped to 88
At 36 he regressed to 68
In fact it seems like eveyone regressed back to their "original rookie rating"
Wall is back at 81 after being 95 in his prime, Cousins went back to 70 and even LBJ went to be a 75.Last edited by Jukeman; 10-09-2010, 04:10 PM.Comment

I really don't think I'm gonna do this unless its not much to handle. How will you have ur options set out? I would plan to still turn off morale/roles and team chemistry. Leave cpu trades off til jan 15th. But with controlling all 30, would trades even happen??I think that production comes from potential, I could be wrong, but that's what i'm going with.

Well, here's the way i'm going to do it. I'll have one primary team I control, which will be the Bobcats.Originally posted by [email protected]First I really appreciate your work on this. That's the team I play all the games for and such, but, for the other 29 teams i'll be handling the player roles, who starts, sixth man and all of that.
Once mid-january rolls around, i'll check every player on every team, see the type of numbers he's putting up, if he's unhappy, contract he has and things like that to determine if he warrants a trade or not.
After that, i'll look at the rumor mill, the rumor mill is also a great way to see who could possibly be traded (adds some spice to league)
Once I get to the off-season, i'll be handling contracts, draft and free agency for every team. It's quite a pain but I guess if you can get through all of it it's well worth it to have a realistic NBA. Think of it as you playing god.
It takes away a bit of the unpredictability, which is why I really don't like doing it, but until 2K patches this it's my only option.Comment

What is the downside to havin the player roles and chemistry off?Or is there even any? Do players progresss 2 fast? Could someone explain this to me?Comment

It takes away all of the unpredictability. That would be very boring for me. Luckily for me, I'm not seeing those issues, except for the high rookies draftees. Did you do any roster adjustments or anything? Just wondering if there is any other reason why you are seeing these issues and others are not.Well, here's the way i'm going to do it. Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
From what iv'e seen, when you have player roles off, guys won't get upset when they're delegated to the sixth man position, even though their rating dictates them as a starter. Think Manu, Jamal Crawford, Shaq, Lamar Odom and other guys.
It does however, from my experience, give the starters an ample amount of playing team, usually leaving the 6th man with about 12-19 minutes a game. If you like to use role players a lot i'd recommend manual substitutions or subbing my fatigue instead of rotation.
Team chemistry dictates how your team plays together on the court, it's tied in to players roles a bit, but I think it's quite stupid and always turn it off.Comment

What system are you on? 95% of the guys in this thread are seeing all these issues, although some guys on the PC are saying they don't..It takes away all of the unpredictability. If you're on a console and not seeing any of these issues then you're a lucky man.
However, I implore you to sim past year 2-3 and check how many trades went down at the end of the year, and continually check the road W/L record for every team at the end of the year. If you're on a console and all of this is in line for you, then you caught a lucky break.Comment

Re: It would be a total Buzz kill if Association mode is as broken...
Thanks.Well im not havin that much trouble with my own team its the other 29.Im sure this can be fixed by controlling all 30 but the off season just seems a little to time consuming when controlling all 30. But the guys you named above manu, shaq(Mainley the whole celtics bench) stay PO'd.Will turnin roles off help the cpu teams? You tell me what works best when you wanna control one team and thats what ill do. You seem like you've put alot of time in this which is highley appreciated to us Association nuts.Plus are you usin 2kroster or are you downloading a 2kshare roster? The "out the box" rosters seem a little high for certain players. Thanks bro. From what iv'e seen, when you have player roles off, guys won't get upset when they're delegated to the sixth man position, even though their rating dictates them as a starter.
