Kobe M.I.A. in My Player Mode

I recently played a game against the Lakers expecting to be lit up for 30+ by Kobe, but he didn't play. So I check their roster in game and don't see him on the list, so I'm thinking he's injured. After getting back to the main menu, I check the injury report and Kobe is not there. I end up checking all the statistics and transaction reports, yet he is nowhere to be found. Even though I'm not with the Lakers, Kobe is very influential in the league and basically make the Lakers the contenders they are, so having him missing is not only glitchy, but also changes the dynamic of the league.

Has anyone else had any players go missing in action in My Player Mode?

Anybody know what could be causing this or experienced it first hand?

The only explanation I could think of would be that he was traded, but i'm not sure.

That's what I thought at first, but I can't find him in any team's roster.

Are you sure you didn't put him in one of the classic teams before you started my player? In that case it would go with that roster file and he wouldn't be in the league.

I had rearrenged some with the roster files before starting My Player and I saw that a bunch of the generic legends were on the Lakers just because I had rearrenged them a bit.

He donned a mask and is now in Europe fighting crime.

Or a cyborg from the future came to kill him. You can't reason with this cyborg, he has no mercy, he is the dunkinator. Kobe is running.

Try starting a new myplayer. See if Kobe is there.

I know this may be a big deal for you, but...do you really want to have to guard Kobe?

Think about the unthinkable in order to make it thinkable and that way, no one ever has to think about it again. It's a theory
I'm so theoretical and unimaginable you can almost say I don't exist.

I'll have to check again but I kinda had the same thing with Carmelo in quick games, he wasn't on the nuggets roster. Dunno if it's because 2k servers are down, it's just weird.

You may be right. I'll check the rosters outside of My Player, but I'm almost positive that I reset the rosters after I switched him to the '91 Lakers.

Yeah that was the problem. Kobe was still on the '91 Lakers. I reset the rosters, but didn't realize you then have to save the roster, as the game usually autosaves everything.

I'm about 8 games into the regular season with my PG on the Grizzlies. It's gonna be tough playing through My Player and missing one of the best players in the league, but I don't know if I wanna start over again.

Maybe he stayed in Europe after losing to FC Barcelona...or perhaps he signed with a team in china
