whats the purpose of playing a bball game if the shot going in is pre determined? I agree with you sir that is not a option for online play

He has no idea what he's trying to say. He's clearly ignorant to the fact that there is a known lag issue when playing online and that it was already addressed in this very thread. This tells me he is either one of these guys who doesn't bother reading the whole thread (this ones short so there's no excuse) before he replies or he's one of these guys who's just not capable of understanding that LAG affects ALL shots, not just 3's. I'm sure if you ask him, he's never had a problem and he will dominate all challengers online.

For no other reason than it would be a way to work around the lag issues that plague this series. That's why. Listen, I'm not a big online guy, so I really don't care. However, I would be an online guy if the damn system worked, but it doesn't, so I'm not. I'm positive that with all the negative feedback this series has had regarding online play, if you were to conduct a poll, the majority of folks would rather have the option of real shooting % than deal with missing a majority of shots due to a lag problem. And I'm not just talking about people here at OS. NO bucket is guaranteed, ever. No one in the NBA shoots a ridiculous shooting percentage. Not to the point where it would translate into promised baskets on every attempt in a video game.

Yeah, this is a problem. There shouldn't be a difference between the offline and online release points. This needs to be addressed and fixed. As good as this game is offline, I gotta give it an "F" for online experience, again. This release point issue combined with the fact some people like myself still can't get a ranked match consistently, tells me that yet again, 2k has failed in their online experience and I could of sworn they were saying this year online was going to be right. Get it fixed already would ya?

There will always be lag and its not about being fixed its about how fast your internet connection is, if u have a internet speed of lets say 8 or 9 mb your refresh or response time will be slower, now if we were in South Korea or Japan they have speeds up somewhere around 60 -70 mb which would produces no noticable lag...the US is near the bottom when it comes to speed, we are at like 16-18 mb..Hope that makes sense..

I actually have not noticed any lag on the PS3 version. Online games feel like offline games to me.

That could be because u have a very good internet provider like a comcast or Time Warner with Speed boost (cost extra), now if u play someone with a poor connection u will know when u play them

It makes sense. My connect is smooth and fast, as is the friends I play against online. I NEVER have issues with other games (and this is consistently the same scenario when playing the same friends online in different games). But when I play this game online against friends, I have the same problem everyone else is talking about...There's a delay in the time it takes to hit the shot stick and the time it takes to release properly. This is a problem and I don't know much about servers, but I do know that for years people have pointed the finger at 2Ks servers. Frankly, I don't care where the problem originates, but I know it's definitely not my internet connection. This series is infamous for its online issues.

I'm on the 360! I don't even know why I'm partaking in this conversation! I can't even find a ranked game to connect to. Only online I've played is unranked against friends. And I've definitely had issues with missing shots. It makes sense to me that all these people are saying theres a difference in the shot release timing though.

Oh I know that they have serious issues online and it is not as smooth as a madden or gears of war or what have u, i guess im kind of use to the slight lag its not unplayable for most of us but.... u just have to release your shots a lil earlier

Also I have noticed in bball games in general there is a lag, Live 10 was great online wise but that also had a slight lag ( a lil better then 2k) on shoots but more responsive...
