Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
Hey simballer, I've opened a couple of threads here and at the 2k forums, mentioning the total lack of the NBA today segment at the half in association, that is shown in the video of the NBA today 2.0 dev insight blog. Being a presentation guy, I'd like to see score updates of out of town games. Is this a bug, or is it supposed to work for exhibition games only? Thanks.Last edited by bonannogiovanni; 10-16-2010, 07:42 PM.Comment

Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
Can someone explain this please. It's obvious that homecourt advantage is something of importance in any sport! Is this an isolated case for simulated games or also for games actually played by us? I would hate to know that I am going into the Staples Center for a road game and there is no sense of urgency to win by the Lakers and no need for me to pre-game strategies how I am going to win if this is toned down.

Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
Thank you so so so much. Most important things that come to mind have been covered so I'll throw out my two cents on things that haven't been touched.
First: Can you alter free agent logic for the teams so that they don't sign players because the position isn't full on the depth chart? A good example is that I usually see Stephon Marbury sign with the Spurs frequently because Tony Parker is their only designated Point Guard. Realistically there surplus of other guards could naturally fill that role like George Hill, Garrett Temple, and Alonzo Gee. The signing isn't really needed, but the ai lacks the ability to see that they have other guards that can easily fill that role of backup point guard on the roster. Could this be solved somehow? Like could the ai switch players positions themselves so that they can make Hill a PG if they decide to let Parker go as a part of the ai always trying to build? If something can be worked on this it would eliminate a lot of the 'odd' signings I see during the season.
Secondly: Can you ramp up the number of real free agents that go to the D-League during the season? In my sims I have seen players like DeMarcus Nelson, Malik Hairston, Chris Hunter, and D.J. Strawberry sign with D-League teams and I find that very cool. It's normally only 1 player per team though and would find it really awesome if it could be more like 3-4 players or in a perfect world the whole team is made up of free agents. It could eliminate the need to make the randomly generated players for the D-League and it could be constantly supplemented by undrafted rookies. That be really awesome if you could ramp this aspect up.
Again, thanks for working on a patch and letting us know. Hopefully you take your time and get everything done well, but a tentative time table would be appreciated very much
EDIT: Also I think this should be a sticky topic as well.Last edited by Slinky O; 10-17-2010, 12:21 AM.Carefree, wherever we may be

Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
What about 6th Men players always becoming starters? Guys like Jamal Crawford, Manu Ginobili, etc.
This has been an issue in the past 2K games as well. This occurs because the 6th man has a higher overall rating than the starter.
So Manu Ginobili is higher than George Hill so Ginobili ends up taking his spot.
Sidenote...in the future, there should be a new player ambition to go along with financial security, play for a winner and loyalty...and that is "desire to start/be a star" This would be for players like Iverson who will refuse to play for a team that wants him to come off the bench.Comment

Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
This is a good one, but also tricky. For one, it should be tied into his player role as a 6th man, but at the same time, lets say he gets traded to a team to BE the starter, will his role change to starter/star? I'm not sure if the CPU changes player roles. If they can do this...

Re: Association: In-Progress Patch Items
One thing no one has yet to mention is when trading in association y is it that when AI counter offers the players sometimes that they want back is more than can fit onto screen therefore to see all the people involved in trade I have to remove someone and then other players pop up. Basically u get hosed by AI bc I made mistake of this and traded away Blake griffinComment
