Its because the CPU runs the same 4-5 plays over and over again (usually big man). In 12 min Quarters, the only time they actually use different plays in the playbook is under 2 mins of each half.

This seems to be a coding issue that needs to be patched. I say this because 2K10 has the same play-calling system/engine and it was not like this. For example Dirk in 2K10 and 2K11 both have 99 Touch tendency but in 2K10 they ran plays for others.

Every team is like this BTW. For example the Celtics runs plays for Garnett almost all the time and for the Mavericks Nowitzki.

Someone needs to make a thread or sticky saying the reason some players get way too many shots is because of what I wrote above.

I understand they call their "MONEY" plays often, but IF the player that was supposed to score was defended well, they passes it out and do the play again or sometimes CPU creates a different shot. In VC's case, it's different. He just chucks the ball no matter what.

Touches= times a play is called for a player

Shot tendency = liklihood of shooting the ball.

You think VC is bad, trying playing Kevin Durant. I seems like he shoots its every time he touches it. The teams with those superstars play like average teams because they shoot the ball so much.

You think VC is bad, trying playing Kevin Durant. I seems like he shoots its every time he touches it. The teams with those superstars play like average teams because they shoot the ball so much.

I haven't played the Thunder yet, thanks for the heads up. The thing is I don't have a problem with "touches" but my problem is VC is not taking good shots.

Only with certain teams though IMO.....I think kobe and durant shoot a proper amount b/c their shots are from everywhere....carter does that same screen play and jacks 3's all game....im playing them now and the guy keeps jacking...what did you tweak his touches to?

And I thought my game was bad. I played against the Thunder as the Bulls and Kevin Durant chucked up 41 shots and 29 of them were 3's! He was 9-41 for the game. It's like they have no conscience. Everytime he came off a screen, whether he was open or not he'd chuck up a 3 pointer. It was ridiculous.

Bargnani is the same on the Raptors. The CPU keeps on running the same play for him to get him a 3 point shot in the corner. Even if you track him and are right in his face when he catches it he will still shoot it, they need to mix the CPU offence up a bit because when you see the play being run for Bargnani it's pretty much a simple block each time since it's so predictable.

A great experience against the CPU can be had, but there is a lot of work to be done to make it happen.

I've always wondered how things like this even make it into games...especially once that are supposedly the greatest sim ever!!!

It's frustrating. We're supposed to have the most realistic basketball game ever, yet we spend more time tweaking sliders, attributes, rosters, tendencies, and general issues more than actually playing the game.

All-Star / Simulation is an atrocious experience

No kidding man, even I block some of his 3s he still jacks up 3.

As for Bargnani, I was able to check his "money" play in the corner. Just choose whoever guarding him and go around the screen, don't follow him. wait for him in the corner and play close on him. The difference between Bargs and VC is Bargs mix it up, he'll pass if he needs to reset the play. VC doesn't

I watched the Bulls run the same play 10 out of 11 times last night. THis was preseason basketball but....

Wizards too ran the same play with Wall over and over and over again too.

The good thing is the CPU in 2k11 will adjust. If you deny Carter the ball they will go elsewhere.

Exactly. If the CPU actually ran all their plays in the playbook, Carter would not be jacking up 30+ shots. I've went into Practice mode and ran the Magic's plays and they have very good plays. However, a coding issue exists in the game that needs to be patched.

For example a PnR play between Nelson and Lewis or Carter and Howard. Plays for Lewis coming off screens. 2K has lots of great plays out of the box but with this coding issue, CPU never uses them. It's like this with every team.

I must say playing 12 min Quarter, it does get boring playing against CPU because they run the same play and I can anticpate when they will shoot. Can't wait for the patch.
