        When on the baseline I like to do a half spin into a spin pivot layup. In the middle of your spin you can pull a flick flick move. I have the most success when holding the left stick away from the basket(along with LT and X) with the first flick.

              I dont think it looks too much different from these clips minus the simple crossover. However, you can get away with a ton of consecutive iso moves with big men in 2k11.

                The problem I have is the dribbling moves. You can reverse povit out of the post and then dribble.

                I was talking about more of this type of running hook. The one you did was a little out of wack. Watching big men score off the dribble is troubling to me.

                  In regards to post defense:

                  I feel that have a pretty good hold on this. If they are away from the basket, force them to take the first hook/roll shot. If they are close to the basket, call for a double, or get them out of there. Of course, there is only so much you can do, and I will get beat, but I'll make it up in help defense later.

                  However, there is one move that I have no idea how to stop. The face-up jumpshot. What I mean is when an opponent posts-up, gets the ball, faces-up, and immediately shoots. I haven't been able to figure out how to get a good contest on that shot yet.

                  It seems that the game makes it so that when they face-up, I can't close the distance until the animation is complete. It means that once they are done, they can take a wide open jump shot, unless I sprint out to contest. If I do spring out to contest, and they don't shoot, they go by me to get a dunk.

                  Any tips?

                    I think if you have someone with a quick jumper, it's near impossible to block unless you have a freak 7'0 with ridiculous vertical. I think if the person doing the faceup has a jumper that takes just a couple extra micro seconds (Dirk, etc) then it can be blocked.

                        Shot releases in the post do not matter whatsoever. If you're open, it doesn't matter how long you hold the stick.

                        Shot Defense:
                        This is tricky. Basically, you want to stay between your man and the basket. When the player starts to go for a shot to his left or right, move your left stick in that direction, and press Y/Triangle when he is about to shoot.

                        You have to wait a split second on post-roll shots, so that you can contest right when they shoot. If you go too early, you will be to their left if they go right, and to their right if they go left because your player is going to where they are and not where they will be.

                        The farther they get under the basket, the better it is to simply push the right stick up and do a basic contest. The farther away they are the better it is to use Y/Triangle to try and contest.

                          Are you sure that shot releases don't matter?

                          The thing is, when playing the CPU sometimes I get a really good mismatch, and I try to do a basic hook basically right in front of the basket, yet I still miss. The CPU on the other hand, post shots go in 80% of the time. I'm pretty certain that there are shot releases for post moves, but flick flick moves definitely dont (well not close range ones anyway). If not, then either my sliders are screwed up or the CPU is simply haxing me.

                            If there is one, then the game doesn't tell you about it, and I've always played like there isn't on.

                            I mean, why would 2k not tell us something about the post-game, they always explain everything about the rest of game.

                                Not in the post. If you don't see a shot indicator, then the release doesn't matter.
