This was an issue of mine with 2k10's my player because the offense was so stagnant. Now I just started my my player, so I have not made it to the league yet, but during the draft combine games, there are no plays called for my team at all, this was the same way in 2k10 and I expected to see the play vision once I made it to the league, but it never happend. Is it possible to get your team to run plays without being a PG, and if so, does the play vision come up for players without the ball when a play is ran. I honestly NEED an answer for this, My Player gets aggrivating being a SG because if you come up the court behind the PG, he will ALWAYS pass you the ball once you get around the 3pt line. There has never been a play ran, so your teammates have absolutley no direction on offense. Can somebody help ya boy out.

Good lookin out bruh, appreciate the answer my dude. I have one problem though, I just tried to google an answer for this question and I noticed NOBODY HAS MENTIONED THIS ON ANY WEBSITE, at least not to the point where it recieved enough attention to be addressed by devs. This is the same as last year, I never seen anybody mentioning the lack of plays being ran if you are not a PG. Funny sh** though, if you play a regular game on player lock, the play vision will come up for a non ballhandler, this made me think it was necessary in My Player. Big mistake 2k, I didnt play My Player at all last year because of this, and if its not addressed in a patch I probally will miss all of the great features My Player brings to the table, cause plays not being ran is a big problem.

See what I mean, nobody speaks on this issue. Im not rushing posters or anything, but this is an issue thats NEVER mentioned or discussed. I cant understand how there is hundreds of sim players on OS who plays My Player, and nobody talks about plays being ran. I mean damn, am I the only dude who notices that the offense is stangent as hell if you are not a PG, am I the only one who notices that due to no plays being ran, the PG will pass the ball to the SG around the 3pt line EVERYTIME THE SG CROSSES HALF COURT. I cant believe that nobody is speaking on this, SMH.Comment

You are not the only one...:wink: There have been a lot of complaints already about this "feature" missing. I totally agree with you and im just taking a break from 2k11 after 30 games into the season because I got bored without running plays. I cant really understand how they can miss out this kind of essential part of basketball in this mode. Whats even more surprisingly thats 2k said (have no link, read that a few days ago, think it was on twitter) that this is absolutely intended...

I'm with ya. 2K always has the same bugs in their games year in and year out. I'm convinced they either just don't bother testing their games, or they leave problems in there on purpose. Why would they do that? Well, if they made the perfect basketball game, what would cause you to purchase next years game?Comment

no one has realised cause everyone creates a PG lol. totally agree though, my player should not have less than general gameplay, it should be general gameplay (including frequent playcalling) + mode-specific featuresComment

@28 Grams - a bunch of people have already brought this up under impressions and the My Player threads. But yeah I'll support a thread dedicated to this problem cuz I just can't see playing any position other than PG if plays aren't gonna be run.
@mongo13 - are u sure they really said that this is intended? I thought they said they were trying to fix this in a patch.
It just doesn't make any sense not to have Playvision available in My Player.

When I play crate a legend it seems plays are run, but there's no play art on the court so the human player doesn't know which plays are run or what to do.
One thing that points to plays being run is the PG sometimes stands in one place at the top of the key. I have to find where to go so that the PG will pass (the play will start).Comment

Yeah in my MY Player I'm a starting PG for the Lakers and certain times they'll sub in Derek Fisher and put me at the 2 and I usually have to run to an open spot down low and set a screen or pop out for whatever is my best guess on what the play is. I'd say about 1 out of 5 times it seems like a whole play gets run. If I make a cut anywhere near the PG he'll give it to me or someone throws up a garbage shot. Very frustrating, I agreee!
One thing Ive done is to sprint down and stay in the corner just to see what the offense does. Sometimes they run and play and score.Last edited by tfin1212; 10-27-2010, 02:43 PM.My buttonry is amazin'!Comment

yes you can call play.....but you got to have the ball then press LB to bring up the player icon than press x,y,b or a to pick a player yo want to run a play for (a red circle should appear under them) than you press x,y,b or a to run that certain person plays from the play book.
(Must have ball)
1. press LB bring up icon
2.Press A for PG , B for SG... etc They should then be highlighted with a red circle
3.Press A,X,Y or A to run a play from the team play book for the person you picked in step 2.

In 2k10 you had the option to run plays. All you had to do is go to coaching settings and change playcalling to automatic and show play art. I thought that was the best part of last years my player mode and I don't understand why it was taken out. They should building upon the game and not taking stuff out. Hopefully it gets fixed. Even without the play calling my player is still a joy to play.Comment
