You CAN draw charges this year.. The things is, you gotta ALWAYS use the right stick and NEVER the B button.. As soon as i figured this out, I've been able to consistently draw charges..

Right stick away from the ball-handler to assume the "take charge" stance right where you're standing. This is the exact same thing as pressing the B button animation-wise, but for some reason when you do it with the stick it works far more consistently, at least as far as I've noticed.

In addition, right stick to the side (left or right) in relation to the ball-handler does the hop-sideways-and-then-take-charge move. This one is tricky and difficult to time correctly, but if you manage to do so it can be very useful.

i'd imagine the game wants to reward you for being smart and anticipating where the ballhandler is going, rather than just hitting B

I managed to take a few with the L2 and circle buttons (PS3 obviously). But you need to be in position ca. almost a second in order to not get a blocking foul (which I get more often than the charge). It's very hard to anticipate where the ball handler is going.

Gotta try the right stick version...

All other realistic charges are either no calls or blocking fouls (and i have charging set to 100). Is it like this for everyone else?
No, I took two charges the other day when I played against the Kings. The problem is you need to have your guy set for what seems like forever. The way it is coded in to the game, you need to "set you feet" (ie: stand there forever) and it is easy for the computer to get around you.
