Is the vertical rating even necessary?

I mean, I'm just trying to get some better stats in my player. Should I waste points on the vert rating?

I heard it did something to everything related to jumping. So in my player, a PF 7 foot, my vertical is 98 and after upgrading from 60, i've definitely seen an increase in rebounds.

It's better to upgrade vertical before touching rebounding. I average 11 boards a game without upping my rebounding and I'm a 6'6" SF.

Vertical rating is more beneficial for shorter players. You're able to jump higher, and therefore, play taller than you actually are.

The rebounding rating is almost unnecessary because proper boxing out mechanics are currently present in this game. All you have to do essentially is be able to outjump everyone one when in reality it's all about having the best position. The rebounding rating is suppose to represent awareness and reaction during missed shots with position being the likelihood that you'll get the rebound. But if you have a player with high rebound, vertical, and height, you can basically get every rebound because no one is going to box you out of position.

This rating helps anyone. Drafted a C who's 6'9 and now has a vertical of 88 and sometimes it looks like he's on a trampolene, but helps pull down 10+/game

Vertical also affects your "hang time"
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

What about dunking? I've noticed I'm getting more rebounds now, but I wanna start flying!

I was always told to up the vertical rating ever since last year when My Player mode started. I average 10.2rpg with my 6'9" SF and my rebounding (on either side) is no more than 60. My vertical is about 76 though.

I average about 11 rebounds a game and I haven't upped my vertical or rebounding. Oh, 6'7" small forward.
