Re: NBA 2K11 Patch v1.2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here
Hey just wanted to chime in to people who may still be looking at this thread for the first time looking for impressions......
after a full month and some days with the game and post patch..I must continue to say that this game is incredible and I am so glad that I made this purchase. the teams and players are off the chain, crowd atmosphere is good but could be better, the intensely insane dunks are just wow...!!! I love this game !!!! nba today highlights are wayyyy better than last year, player control is alot more responsive...plays are great ....I really hope that Online gets better I really want to put it to some folks out there this year..but it's too easy to exploit as is right now....
I can't say that I felt like I was getting my money's worth every year out of these games but this year's game is money well spent I am easily going to be playing this up until the next release easy
....and the funny part is that I have not even touched the Jordan mode yet or the association or season modes yet....this game is so freaken deep this year..lol to all the complainers about all the little stuff wrong with this game I am laughin my head off....there is some good and bad but nothing no where near bad enough to stop me from playing this game everyday!!!
I've been lost in my season.
Deep, deep game.Comment

-The ‘Player Progression’ menu (Located in Features -> Living Rosters) should now properly work when new Living Roster updates are applied. Please delete the ‘Player Progression’ save file after the patch is released so the system can bring the file up-to-date.
Also, Im kind of curious to know why the old file is a problem?Last edited by RonnieG; 12-04-2010, 12:24 PM.Comment

Honestly, the game feels a little broken to me now post patch. I've put some time into learning the new timing on shots, and the quick releases really ruin the feel of offline play, as it constantly seems like you're chucking the ball up as quick as possible instead of actually shooting it. Kobe and Jordan seem like they have no hangtime on their jumpshots anymore. Nobody does.
I honestly can't believe they patched something like this, I'm soooo disappointed.Comment

Not sure if this helps: I had issues hitting shots initially post-patch but turned the Quickness slider to zero for me and the CPU, and turned up each shot slider 1-click. Really opened up everything from fast breaks to shots for whatever reason
based off All-Star/Sim btw. Game plays incredibly; really see the speed differences with quickness turned downLast edited by spankdatazz22; 12-05-2010, 09:38 PM.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I feel the same. The patch has ruined it for me honestly. No hangtime on jumpers, so the artform is gone. Now it's just a hurry up chuck.
Couple of things I hate:
Any body contact seems to mess up a dunk and you end up shooting a layup which has a much lesser chance of going in.
The computer randomly passes to players, usually farther from you. The momentum ends up taking them out of bounds if the pass is completed.
Over the back happens a lot now. No foul calls.
My game actually had the ball disappear which was worse than the Jesus glitch of Elite. It disappeared for 3 quarters. I called timeouts and went through halftime with no ball.
In the end, the patch took the fun away for me and my brothers who play this game religiously. They even asked me why I patched it. If I had known how bad it was, I wouldn't have.Comment

fyi. You can erase the patch. I am a ps3 user and i have deleted the patch (by going to game data utility in the ps3 menu), but before I did, I actually downloaded the rosters from 2kshare that I had wanted to test out (i.e. Rashidi, official 2k roster releases, etc.) and applied them to the pre-patch vers of the game and have been very satisfied with the results. If you prefer the 'pre-patch' gameplay, simply erase the patch. Problem solved. Hope this helps.Comment

I'm not cool with the game post-patch. Besides the shot mechanics, the core gameplay now feels cheapened, rushed, buggy, and too easy on sim superstar.
Kind of a bummer.Comment

I haven't experienced any problems with the shot releases or "quick releases" that so many people are reporting. Is that an online-only issue?"You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

After about 20 games online since the patch. I'd have to say I liked the gameplay better pre patch.
- I notice more "contact animations" in the paint but no fouls being called. I use to draw way more fouls in the pant pre patch. To many times an animation plays out where my players dunk/lay up attempt gets changed from contact but no call is made and the ball just falls to the floor.
- I still dont like the "new" timing of the shot stick. I liked the release points pre patch (shots & freethrows) better than post patch. Neither seem correct but pre patch felt better.
- And just shooting as whole seems like it's just way to difficult online.Comment
