I was really surprised to see such dunking variance between teams (though I guess I should have seen it coming). In 2009, the Denver Nuggets led the NBA by averaging 6.3 dunks per game. The rest of the top five (Suns, Sixers, Lakers, Blazers - in order) all averaged between 5 and 6 dunks per game.

On the flip side, the '09 San Antonio Spurs averaged just .89 dunks per game (that's 73 dunks for the entire season - or 447 less than Denver). The Spurs had 94 less dunks than anyone else in the NBA. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lowest dunking teams (Pacers, Timberwolves, and Rockets, respectively) all averaged just above 2 dunks per game. The fifth lowest dunking team, the Pistons, averaged just a tiny shade below 3 dunks per game.

So really, even with the acquisition of Richard Jefferson, if you're the Spurs in your 2K11 game, you might be overachieving with three dunks per. Ha.
If I read you well, when I play with the Clippers in the summer league, the fact that I get around 2 dunks a game (with my 7'1-325 center) and that Griffin and Aminu are averaging almost the same is not subpar in matter of dunks average in the NBA.

It's interesting, I was under the impression that there was far more dunking in that league than what you say. Maybe it's just a perception since what you see in recap is more often dunks than let's say, blocks!

Thanks for the info, I won't say a thing now about my lack of dunking if the average in games are 3.

This and like one of the previous posters said, it's much more rewarding now when you're able to pull off a dunk

The reason why people post threads is to get information on their topic. I don't care if 600,000 people view it and only 10 answer. If over 300 people viewed the topic, it probably means they might have a problem dunking too. The whole point of the thread was to see if anyone else had problems dunking in the game. After I read that the average is between 4 and 6 dunks a game it says a lot about my problem. Which would be why I started the thread!

Dude... that's not the way it works around here... I've been in this community for almost 8 years and I know... your topic would have been about 30 pages long by now if this was an issue but it's not. Like you've been told already... a quick slider adjustment can fix that. Take the friendly advice and run with it

Look DUDE, for being here 8 years your a 10 overall. I've been here for a year and I'm a 17. I don't see why your all up on Policing my thread? This is a COMMUNITY and a very good one! When I started the thread I was looking for an answer to my problem but you haven't given a suggestion, so why do you keep worrying about my thread?I've read comments IN THIS THREAD where other people had the same problem, so if the thread helps me and someone else that's the point. If this thread was so worthless it would be on page 26 by now!

Well, i don't see why ya'll keep saying the same stuff " it's not supposed to happen often blah blah blah" he just asked for pointers so quit with the extra stuff. Like some dude said before, work on the "shooting in traffic" i think quickness will help along with vert, speed and maybe dunking :P
My guy tends to dunk more when he's hot then when he's average so try getting ina few shots/lay-ups and see what happens. Good handles help too so you can cross up the defender and what not. I've kinda hated the lack of dunking...sure it's more realistic but then why the hell can the cpu dunk so freaking often? On a 99 defender? (mumbles about CPU hax) anyways try that stuff out and see if it works.

Work on your standing dunk rating if you want to get more dunks w/o momentum towards the rim. Work on dunks if you just want to dunk more overall.

Dunks are more frequent when a player has momentum towards the basket, especially via lead passes.
