    Re: NBA 2K11 Scripted ?

The multiplayer component is a curious wrinkle in this conversation (which I just read, didn't see it the first three times). Clutch Factor affects tendencies, so it very well may affect multiplayer games as well. I always saw it as a comeback mechanism for the computer.

I will say, 59% shooting sounds high. Whether playing multiplayer or against the CPU, I see all the time that my hot-shooting quarters and halves are offset by cold-shooting quarters and halves. As for Zach Randolph, 12-25 is more likely than 15-25 (if he went 3-for-7 in your last quarter), for example.

12-25 (Zach missing the last 7 shots) is 48%. Stat nerd alert here, but here are Zach Randolph's 20+ FGA games for the past 3 seasons: http://bkref.com/tiny/j1WhQ. The middle-most entry is 47.8%, and the average for all such games is... you guessed it... 48%.

I actually figured it wasn't as much a comeback feature as it was the game averaging out. but I had blown him out for 3 quarters, and all of a sudden I go ice cold and he catches fire with every player on his team - just seemed too unlikely. I feel like if I've shot 59% for 3 quarters, there was no reason everyone would just go cold at the same time. but I'll try turning off the Clutch Factor and seeing how it goes. now if I can just figure out how to keep him out of the lane on most possessions.
