Re: My Player: Who's single-handedly led his really poor team to win a championship?

I currently play PG TimberWolves - Season 1 - we are like 20 -60 and no way shape or form making the playoffs...

I am hoping that the young team (Love, Beasley, Johnson, Flynn) will develop with me in the next 2 - 3 years and at least MAKE the playoffs. It's going to be VERY difficult. K Love is a beast on the boards but lacks Post Cred - Beasley is Beasley but the problem with the T-Wolves... absolutely NO defense...

We can put up a 100+ points a game on the reg but we also give up that much and usually more because these guys stink defensively.

    We'll see how it goes...

I like playing for the Wolves though because it's a challenge and I have a chance to really help that team at PG and be the leading scorer without upsetting the balance.

      Favors

We beat the Lakers in 5, it was unreal. Now in the 2nd year the Nets signed Carmelo and I decided to stay so now the line-up is:

      D Harris
      Melo
      Me

      Lopez
Lucky... I turned the Raptors into a powerhouse. We were #1 in the NBA, but I hated playing there. I got traded to NJ, but their record was horrible (worst in the NBA). I got us up to the 7th seed, but we JUST missed the playoffs when I got injured and the team tanked. I averaged a trip-dub, was 3rd in MVP voting, All-Star, multi-time player of the month, RoY, and I CANNOT figure out how to start (we also got Melo in the off-season)! The starting 2 is a rookie who plays 3 mpg, Melo is the starting 3, and I'm now the 6th man in season 2. Should I up my minutes (stamina), or get my overall up, or what? Maybe this wasn't a problem for you. I had your lineup for like 2 games before becoming the 6th man.

Personally, I've never done that but I really would love to. I once played as a center for the Heat and helped them to become the champions but that's not the case. The Heat was already a great team!
I finally got my team (Cleveland Cavs) into the eastern Conference Finals. i created a Sf, named Irvin King. of course he took the place of Lebron. At first though I was drafted by Chicago, but i requested a trade right after i played my 5th game. When i got to Cleveland, their record was really poor, it was something like 6-16 by the time i got there. but when i did it was on. we got the best record in the NBA with 60-22. I was named MVP and ROY along with selected to 1st Def, 1st All team, and 1st Rookie. Now I am going against one of my rivals which is Chicago, so all these games will be "Key games" for me, so thats awesome.

if the kings continue to have more injuries...then i guess it would make me qualify this season...there's been like 10 straight games in which we won by less than less than 10 points ever since demarcus cousins and kevin love went down...

Not this year, but in 2K10 I led the Nets to the Finals and won in 6 games over the Suns.

That's an interesting situation. What's your overall rating? That will have a lot to do with where you are in the line-up. It was weird that when I decided to return to the Nets, after they picked up Melo, that they found a way for both of us to be in the starting line-up. I figured they would put me at the 2 and him at the 3 but it was the opposite. Its working so far.

I could not help but to sign in and tell of my story. I was drafted by the Thunder (I know, not a poor team.) We went on to the best record in the NBA. However, the manegment went and destroyed the teams back up and team chemistry by bringing in Nash and Hill and George Hill as well. We get to the playoffs and lose Durrant in the Second round...ok we limp on through with Westbrook leading the way now. In the Third round of the playoffs we lose Westbrook. Oh dear. So limping into the finals against the Heat we have a starting lineup of Steve Nash, Me rated 73, Travis Outlaw, Grant Hill and Drew Gooden. First game I go off for 53 points 7 rebounds and 6 assists and we won. The next two games the rest of the team catches fire so I was in the 20s and 30s. To make a long story short we end up in game 7 where I drag the team to a championship by scoring 47 with 10 rebounds and 8 assists. After the season I said screw this team they have 0 chemistry and no back ups. (team overall of 69) and went to the Spurs.
