Difference between 20 Sec and Full Time Out?

Under what circumstances do u say "I think I'll call a 20 instead of a full this time"? Any advantages or disadvantages?

The CPU won't call a full timeout until you do. So I guess the only advantage is that now the CPU will call full timeouts.

i thought that with a 20 second timeout only 1 person can be subbed in? (correct me if i'm wrong)

        Nope.

I call a 20 to stop a run or make a quick sub if needed. I use full's to get some guys a breather and set up pressure strategy, call a coaching focus (defense or rebounds), set coaching strategy...all of he above.

I think you're supposed to only be able to make 1 sub on 20-second time outs but 2k didn't include that in the game. I generally use 20 second timeouts if the guy I'm playing online does manual subs because I hope that he doesn't have enough time to make whatever changes he might want to make. Sometimes I take a full time out if I need to do something but don't have enough pause time left or if I just wanna take a minute to check everything out and get a focus during a close game lol. Off-line, I don't really care which kind of timeout it is.

But you can do all of this during a 20-sec timeout.

i'm pretty sure if you only call 2 20 second time outs during the first half, you get all 7 timeouts again in the 2nd... can anyone tell me why this is?

Not really depending on how many changes you wanna make. 20 seconds doesn't really last very long.

So what is the incentive for calling a 20-sec timeout?

Like I said, for me, I don't really care what kind of timeout it is when I'm playing off-line. But when I'm playing online, if I just want to make a sub or make a quick change, or even just between free throws to try to throw off the opponents timing (which I think has actually worked for me a few times lol), I'll call a 20 second timeout. I'll also call 20 second timeouts if the opponent is doing manual subs so that hopefully he doesn't have enough time to make all the changes he wants to make but I can do what I need to do.

Look, there is no difference in calling a 20-sec timeout vs a full aside from 40 seconds. If u call a 20 sec, your stamina still replenishes, and u can make the same subs and adjustments if ur quick enough, so why would anyone want to call a 20 sec timeout?

They should make it so that 20 sec timeouts don't replenish stamina, you can make minimal subs, and you can't use a point of emphasis. If u can do the same as with a full, there's no point.

IMO they should be more sim...20 sec timeouts should allow you to "diagram" some quick plays (not the ones you have when inbounding the ball ) both on offense an defense for different game situations like a last second shot, or "reading" the offensive play of the opposite team (delay of game anyone) so that the players can make the necessary adjustments.
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

Maybe next year should give you the whole team playbook, and you have 20 seconds to choose a play?
And for the full, maybe you could change the plays for each player.

                              Disagree.

I have never seen stamina recovery as good as you get than with a full timeout.
