NBA 2k11 My Player: Is it better than 2k10's?

Ive had this game since the 2nd day it came out and I have yet to touch My Player. Is it any good this year around? What is different than last years My Player?

YOu have press conferences after every game. The summer league and pre-draft games required were cut down. You can request a trade, there's more but that's all i can think of off the top of my head, and YES it's MUCH better then last year's because it's not its first year for it, there was no way they could have made it worse, because it didn't have all that much to it last year lol.

Lol how about the gameplay? Is it easier to earn skill points in training? Is the gameplay equal to all positions instead of the SG and PG?

Its still a laborious process when you start out but as you develop things will come into place and you do feel achievement. Its definitely an improvement over last years (as it should be) and I enjoyed it very much.

It's an exercise to frustration, an almost broken mode that shows the idiocy of 2K.

Stay away from it unless you want to tear your eyes out.

Woah, someone didn't get a good night sleep.

I didn't really play My Player much last year because it was just annoying. I'm an association guy, but I decided to give My Player a try again this year. It's a decent amount of fun. You get to suggest players to the coaching staff that they should try to acquire, get to make your own shoe when you're good enough, get billboards and magazine covers, etc.

pretty much this...but the modes does come with frustration in the beginning and for the most part when players are using big men...

also 2k didnt put enough sponsorship deals in this mode...

Is it really? A decent amount of fun?

When your players lose all shots, the coach keeps playing the same plays even if it means that a player shoots 1/11 3pts in a quarter, when the A.I. team mates almost never make logical decisions, when the team mate PG shoots impossible 3s while the other players stand still, when your team mates can't play proper defence, when fouled out players can come back in, when plays are bugged and you can end up stealing the ball 10 times in a row..., etc?

It's only decent amount of fun if you are not planning on playing seriously and just want to mess around with the mode.

Sorry if I sound too negative, but it's a fact.

My Player mode puts me to sleep..

the A.I. is too dumb and misses way too many shots...

if your not scoring 30 points a game you will lose almost every game

What does it mean to "lose all shots"?

In My Player, I got drafted to the Blazers. I play PG/SG. Most of our plays are run for LaMarcus Aldridge or Brandon Roy and occasionally for me. If the plays aren't working, you can cancel them and call for a quick screen instead. You can also call for a pick and roll or pick and pop if you want to. My team has the highest FG % in the league this past month and give up the least amount of points in the league right now, so I don't really know what you mean when you say nobody plays defense or makes shots because I definitely haven't had any issues with that.

I only started playing My Player recently (currently in the summer league), but I noticed the AI has atrocious shot selection and the pace is really fast. People tend to just chuck up terrible shots early in the shot clock.

I've also found it way too easy to rebound as a guard if I crash the boards.

When you cancel the plays you actually call for a quick screen. You can't play like this all the time. Your team mates stay still, the PG just stands still until the clock shows 3 secs. They usually make bad shooting selections then.

The FG% is mostly atrocious, unless of course you are playing the default sliders. If you up the difficulty though (Super Star and above) and use simulation you will get a combination of good games, bad games and atrocious games.

In my team we always play the same 3 or 4 plays. Every attack! Durant ends up shooting impossible 3s all the time.

It's a nightmare actually, almost completely broken.

I never tried My Player but I decided to give it a shot and I must say I'm really happy with it, its pretty addictive.

There's definitely some inconsistancies in the My Player mode. Some of the complaints here are warranted. I'm fine with most of the issues though because I look at My Player as being more about chasing a higher rating for, well, my player. That's the addicting part. It's kind of RPG-ish. My only issue with the mode is the fact that it froze on me a month ago and I can no longer move forward in my season. I'm stuck. Now, on my disc, My Player has essentially been snuffed into nonexistance.

its wayyyyy better.... u just feel more involved with your player... but in 2k10 its was jus play a season then sign with a new team after that season... in 2k11 u can request trades, get signed with jordan, press conferences... it just a better mode than last years
