I think the All-Star weekend would be a nice-add on as far as when friends come over, and you all can do something fun, I never really played the feature when it was in live, only time I ever got to it is if my players in my franchise were invited. That seems pretty fun, but it couldn't hurt, but like someone said earlier, I think EA still has the exclusive, I'm not completely sure. Too many exclusives for a game that's not even out.

They can have it online as well;

Skills Challenge
You go into a ranked lobby, with friends, or random. With variety of skilled players and speed rating, which IMO is what people will go to first, chances of 4 players having Derrick Rose is unlikely but possible, nothing you can do about that. Feature could be just like the Dribble Course already in set, when making the bounce pass or chest pass, you press A (360) or X (PS3) and whatever PC has (sorry lol) and just as shooting, you hold it until release is perfect. Now this is a dilemma because for shooting, each release is different because of signature shooting, so idk how'd they'd do it for passing, but I mean, my idea is just for starters. Skills challenge rules apply, medium shot ability will be a factor for jumpshot. **might hurt Rondo getting picked :/**
Winner gets their "player of the game" moment after contest is over.

3-Point Shootout
Same thing, lobby, ranked or with friends. Up to 8 players, each player has :45 to pick which shooter they want. Now there's nothing you can do about 5 people picking Ray Allen so you'd just have to accept it going into the game. Each player sits and watches as each player gets their alloted 1 minute to make as many baskets as possible, or each player takes their shots at the same time, but I personally like the first option better lol. Simple button terminology, press A (360) or X (PS3) and whatever PC is, to retrieve ball, and shot stick or shot button to shoot. 3 point Shootout rules apply, top 3 advance, then winner announced. Winner gets their "player of the game" moment after contest is over.

Slam Dunk Contest
Pretty much invision, the Dunk Challenge or whatever on the blacktop but more organized. Up to 4 players, variety of Dunkers in the NBA, so chances of 4 LeBron James unlikely but possible. User must attempt whatever dunk he so chooses and will be judged accordingly with score. Users might steal your dunk choice or whatever, but go to the Dunk School to have a variety of options. I'm not sure how 2K would handle the user for example, finds out 4 50 dunks, and does them in every contest, it's possible I know, I used to do it in Live against my friends, same 4 dunks every time, but I guess to User's response is, I executed the dunk so it's not cheesing. We'll see what happens.

And if anyone lags out or disconnects in any event before their turn, their player automatically forfeits so there's no chance of the CPU winning.




Those are my ideas on how it could work out online, doubt this could be in 2K12, but could forsure 2K13 had I had someone from 2K just look at this lol.

I don't play association mode, so I don't really have a horse in this race, but if they can do it without sacrificing core gameplay development, I say why not. The more features, the merrier.

With that said, I highly doubt the development team has the resources to allocate to both advancing/fine tuning the core gameplay AND adding a the kind of game modes/features being discussed here.

They NEED this in the game

1. Its in it IRL

2. They could make it even better if they add online Association...............Allstar Weekend players can play with their players in Rookie Game , All-Star game , Dunk Contest , and three point contest....... Set a date to play each game Then Bam.......... MasterPeice......Nice if you have lots of users in all star game...etc

I second the "Flopping Contest" and I nominate Pau Gasol vs. Veteran Vlade Divac. Funny how the big men fall more than the smaller counterparts.
