Re: Improvements to My Player.
Yeah. Most said it would be good the Sliders option and take longer to increase your ratings.
My suggestions are;
* Improve everything about training. Improve your skills training instead of earning skill points. It's like, you should get a teammate to help you improve your pass skills, or then a teammate to guard you and help you improve your "faced-jumper", etc. Should make it more realistic if you could lift weights too.
* Fix the weights thing. Because if you put like 260lbs for a 6'7" SF, it will make you fat instead of because you are strong.
* Improve things ON COURT. Like, if your team is on offense, you are without the ball and you press LB + A, your Player will shout "Pass to <SG's name>", or then when you press another button, you tell him to shoot.
* It would be cool if they put more skin colors, more face options, more voices, etc.
I could write more. But I think it's enough.Comment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
Another thing I would like to see are practices, but not just random practices have it related to your schedule. In these practices you will be able to dril(instead of getting X amount of drills every so many games) and have team practice so you can run the offensive and defensive set you will run in the game. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: Improvements to My Player.
I was playing My player and I think the thing that's really unrealistic is the phyiscal growth of a player(not height). No player goes from a below the rim player into an above the rim player. No player goes from below average speed to J.Wall. Your my player should only progress little to none on most physical areas. Where your my player should become better is more in the mental aspect of the game. Either you have the physical skill or your not in the NBA. Not that you can't make an high IQ guy without a bunch of skills.
Hopefully we get a huge upgrade to my player this year as far as the game plays out. Last year it was barely touched. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: Improvements to My Player.
I would suggesting allowing you to start out with a higher OVR. If you want to start in the D-league, you start out with about 50-60 OVR, if you want to be a backup, 60-70 OVR, and if you want to be a starter, 70-80 OVR. It would definitely help. I don't like being crap and that's why I decided to play MJ: Creating a Legend.Comment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
1. Skill Points should also be givin to certain areas, if you have excelled in them over the game. For example, if I score 10 3's in game then I should be awarded like 1 skill point in that area.
2. Money should mean something, like you get a higher % of sp if you have a higher contract. This makes contracts and trades all the more meaningful.
3. Fix the allstar weekend and voting for MVP. My player is top scorer, top 'assister' and top rebounder for PG. Yet I didn't get in the all star game nor am I among the favourites for MVP.Risinglotus - Australian, 2k Fan, NBA Fan, Misses T-MacComment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
I really don't understand why My Player Mode has different coding. It's simple 2k: Take the rpg elements and player ingame evaluation and merge the MP Mode with Association.Automatically all areas will be improved: AI Teammates better OFF and DEF, better trades in overall, deeper franchise mode, custom sliders etc.
As it is MP Mode is unplayable imo.Comment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
As much as I love My Player mode, this mode needs some overhauling. It's still a very enjoyable mode, but very simple things seemed to have been overlooked by those at 2K.
First off, and this wasn't actually too much of a problem in 2K10: Why are my teammates ridiculously bad? They miss wide open jumpers wayyy too often and their transition defense is downright awful. I made a PF whom I had intended to be an enforcer type player who was there to grab rebounds and block shots. On the Clippers this didn't fly too well, as there was pretty much no one on that team who could produce offensively. At all. Even now, with my PF on the Heat, I still have to put up about 40 points and the Big Three feel more like role players around me rather than the other way around that it should be.
As most have already stated: higher overalls, please! This comes in two different flavors. Not only should I have slightly better general basketball skills than I'm being drafted with, but physically, our My Player's should be way better than they are when they're drafted. Things like speed and vert should only be able to be marginally improved when I become a pro. It's not highly realistic that I can go from being barely mobile to Dwight Howard-esque in my vertical leaping ability.
Lastly, I've personally always felt that doing things in game very well should be rewarded with some skill points for that area. Shooting well from mid range should be rewarded with some points in the mid range shooting area. Certainly, this isn't all that My Player can improve upon, but these core improvements would go a long way towards making this mode more enjoyable than it already is.Comment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
My Player is still too easy. I mean in my rookie season I can drop 60 points grab 15 rebounds and get 10+ dimes against the Celtics?? Also I think they need to make it when you load the mode up your in the gym like they do in most EA Sports game that's cool. I also think a lot of improvement should be if you put effort in at the gym. Instead of just earning skill points and using them. You'll earn minimal skill points and maybe occasionally 1000 or so (key game). This would mean people would have to put effort into the game to get better. There should also be a limit into how much practice you can do a month. Also players still don't foul out in my player. What's up with that it's been like that in 2k10 and 2k11? Also teammates and oppositions players don't play like they should. In My Player Derrick Rose does nothing but take step back jumpers and miss.
Rant over.Comment

Re: Improvements to My Player.
I think we can all agree that the way you progress in this and isn't realistic. It happens too fast, too much in certain phyocally categories, and mostly it's doesn't require your MPto work on whatever skill that needs improving.
Also so we can agree the game is way too easy. It's almost as if ratings carry hardly any weight. This mode is constructed fora single season not a career hopefully making a career out of MP was their focus this year. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: Improvements to My Player.
I know it's too late for any major upgrades.
I had an idea. Each part of the season should affect only a certain set of attributes. What I mean is the attributes are broken down into three parts Skill(Offensives & Defensives), Physical, and Mental. So pratice would improve the skills attributes only. The games would only affect the mental attributes and the off-season would impact physical abilities.
This would be way more realistic. No player's are increasing their speed or verticals in the middle of the season. 1st most of these phyiscal abilities your either born with or not. I would like to see players phyiscal attributes higher to start but very difficult to increase(and only in the off-season). Through out the season skills should be the main thing you work on and only during scheduled practices during the season when the schedule permits it. Lastly I would like to see dynamic goals during games. Which would improve/damage the relationship between your MP teammate and coaches and impact your my player mental attributes. This would be the most fluent attribute anyways changing. You come out don't run the plays properly, miss defense assignments, hog the ball, etc your team trust takes a hit. You turn the ball over a lot, take poor shots, commit a bunch of fouls your basketball I.Q. take hits. Your goals would have an impact on both IQ and team interaction. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: Improvements to My Player.
Hahaaaa i could go all day on this even though My Player is great. I think you should be able to have a tv and watch sportscenter to see if you made top plays, however i think you should be able to skip to the part you want. Also, for the wii, they need to make it like the other systems. you cant nearly customize your player as much as on other systems. Also, let people be able to type their nicknames. AND, put more names into the commentary thing. I'm pretty sad because there's a guy with the last name of Ford in the league but they dont put in mine... Dodge! put in all the car names! LOL so that is a couple of things i think.Comment
