Is this game best played on Pro difficulty?

So I was watching the Bulls own the Celtics last night, made me want to play some 2k11, and I realised just how different it was to the real thing. I play on All Star difficulty and it just felt so...different and wrong. I then opted to put it on pro difficulty because I once read somewhere that it's the best mode for realism, and I found that there's definitely some truth to that. Maybe it's just me but the gameplay just feels more like basketball in real life, the pace is a bit slower and the team mates off the ball seem to move around more accurately. I put all my shot success sliders down to 47 and upped the cpu's to 51, and it made for a really enjoyable and challenging game.

I've said year in and year out that Pro is the most realistic difficulty. While some may say it's too easy, for one off games it seems to best paced, best representation of the sport. Even more so with a few slider adjustments...

In an Association, you experience more streaks so at times Pro will feel very, very easy.

PRO is no doubt the best level to enjoy a true sim experience if your not going to exploit the game.

I tried All-Star and it felt to scripted.

I love Pro and have had an amazing time in 2 82 game seasons already. Like Pared said you will have streaks over an 82 game season. Good and bad streaks. There have been times I have ran off 10-12 wins out of 13-14 games. And there have been rough stretches of 5-6 losses out of 7-8 games.

Default pro on 2k11 is the most perfect sports game difficulty I've even experienced. It just feels good and it never really feels out of control. Every game is competitive for me and if I lose I can almost always blame myself for the loss.

I play on Pro most of the time myself.. it's very good, as long as you don't abuse the CPU. Some good sliders, as well as playing on 12 minute quarters, just make it feel even more real.

Pro is fine, some people might say hall of fame is more realistic, but if it's too hard and your losing by 40 to the wizards, it's not realistic. get my point?

Pro with a good set of sliders is your best option.

I would be very interested in taking a look at what sliders you use. Have you posted any sliders on OS for 2k11?

I haven't. Check out our league forum to get an idea on what I did. Most of my changes are there. I'd say about 90% of them...

I've stuck with Superstar after being on pro then allstar for so long. (and using some sliders i saw on youtube forgot homeboys name.) I find that the CPU isn't really agressive enough for my taste at the lower levels during my association games.

I do agree Pro on one off games are fun if you aren't stressing about the season.

Thanks for posting this, I just did a 52 game season with the Hawks on All-Star default sliders and I went 20-32. Since most people in here agree that Pro is the most realistic difficulty I will play my second season on Pro and see how that goes, I hope its no too easy.

That's the thing though, pro difficulty is too easy. You need to play around with the sliders a bit to make it challenging. I've set my shot success sliders 47, the cpu's is 52. Reverting back to pro is one of the best decisions I have made on this game, it's really made the game more satisfying for me. The more I play on pro, the more I realise just how scripted allstar difficulty feels.

Interesting thread. I got the game late (last week) and one of the first things I did was to move the difficulty up 1 knotch and I am starting to wonder if that was a bad idea. I find it a LOT harder to get the ball to the rim. Is that the case for most of you guys who play on PRO? I think I will try PRO back out again tonight and see if I can get to the rim easier so I don't end up simply being a 3-point shooting team.
