99 is not perfection. Proven by the fact that there is no hard cap on overall ratings as seen by the 2K Sports league site. Last year when LeBron and Kobe were 99 overall, you could look on the 2K Sports league site and they were actually 105 and 106 overall. 99 is definitely not perfection, it's just the highest you can give the player by normal means.

You act like 99 mid range players won't miss a mid range shot.. 99 layup guys won't miss a layup.. 99 block guys will block every shot.. 99 pass guys won't make bad passes.. Which is obviously not true on all accounts..

overated? what are you thinking? do you even watch basketball? the guy is a 2-time mvp, is averaging 28 7 and 7, not to mention he is developing a taste for blood late in games. the guy is a flat out BEAST.

but he is the BEST passing small-forward in the game maybe ever. 90 is fine with me

Your calculations would be wrong then since the passing rating has a huge effect on assists in association as well. Somebody with 57 passing would average about 2 assists a game in association..

EDIT: I'm gonna have to edit the whole roster before I test this. All of the assists stats are so messed up. Conley is averaging more assist than Nash(8.7), CP3(7.9), and D Will(only averaging 6 assists).

It's probably a tendency issue.

EDIt: Definitely a tendency issue. With a 90 rating he's only averaging 6 assists and Conley with a lower rating is always top 3 in assists.

conley is a point guard, he touches the ball EVERY possession. lebron is a forward, he may not even touch the ball on certain possessions. so for him to get almost equal assist he deserves the higher rating

think of situations like mavs, blazers, heat celtics game 5 ...those kinsd of things can happen, just forget about it and move on you'll make more mistakes if u just keep getting angry at the game

Assists =/= Passing

He's got a putrid A/TO ratio, always has. As BallaBoy already showed, it's pretty easy to see how badly they've inflated his ratings based off his stats.

First of all, Blocking and Layups are affected by other stats. If you're sanding still wide open with a perfect release (not green, perfect) you pretty much ARE going to hit every shot with a 99 mid range, but even that is affected by consistency.

It's funny how I say LeBron's passing should be lowered to an 84 and I get talked to like I'm crazy and never saw basketball game, Chia has LeBron at an 80 passing in his rosters and everyone hails to it as the greatest roster on the board, but I digress...

Fun fact: LeBron shot a better percentage from mid-range this season than KD, Melo, and Kobe. Though I'm not sure off the top of my head I believe he also shot better from 3.

Obviously you are one of the people that will believe whatever you hear on television. You clearly put too much stock in stats and numbers and don't bother watching/analyzing/dissecting the actual game/sport to any substantial degree, it's apparent by the way you jump at the assist category as the be-all end-all barometer of passing ability.

LeBron is a supreme physical specimen and offensive talent, he commands a defenses focus 100% of the time he's on the floor, that allows every other player on the floor to get WIDE OPEN shots on a regular basis. He's great at driving and kicking the ball out, that's one area of passing that he excels at as well as/better than anyone else in the league because of his phenomenal ability to get to and finish at the rim. That's also where most of his assists come from, driving to the lane, waiting for a double team to collapse before kicking it out to wherever it came from.

Like I said, that's ONE AREA of passing he's exceptional at, that doesn't make him a GREAT PASSER it makes him a GREAT SCORER who understands he needs to get his team mates involved to a certain degree and understands how to do so in a way that's easiest for him.

Being a die hard Cleveland sports fan, I hate LeBron "post decision" just as much as the next guy.

With that being said, I can accept the fact that this guy is one of the TOP 5 players of ALL TIME... He is also one of THE BEST passers of ALL TIME. If you don't see this, then CLEARLY, you don't know what your watching...
