Thanks man. After analyzing each 2k cover, I noticed that the players looked painted. So I use Photoshop and hand-manipulate each player to look like a painting. Found a tutorial online.
Then I looked up how to make a person look like they're melting...again a Photoshop tutorial. Then I added some lighting effects (again Photoshop) and some personal touches based on what I feel is the player's personality.
It's funny because when I saw the covers come out, I was like, "wow, I could do that". Then I came saw this custom cover thread, and well here I am.
Don't get me wrong, the official 2K covers are incredible, and each time I make a cover I'm trying to closely match that ink splatter effect. And each cover is a combination of trying to match that effect but at the same time, take creative license as a designer to go elsewhere if I feel it makes more sense.
