I love the ally-oop line "Run for cover young fella", but "spurtability" is just turrible...I think a Shaq/Barkley combo...be an awesome commentary pair. I wish the commentators gave created characters the same attention that they give real players...in terms of calling out their presence.

I thought Steve Kerr was already replacing Clark Kellogg? The announcement was made months ago.

Every verse, where they name the type of play your calling, this sucks when your playing online or against a friend. And the commentators are calling your play styles...

Get rid of the that's a false prophecy line...it's stupid and never fits the situation.

I can't remember the exact quote, but it's something about a delicious dime. I always finish the line with him.

The only Doris Burke conversation ever had about how the Sprite Spark for my game as the New Orleans Hornets was "the stretch in the 3rd quarter" where I went on a run. Yes, I may have went on a run in the third quarter during some of these games, but surely that's not the only thing that has ever happened in any New Orleans Hornets game ever? lol.

That and the aforementioned "spurtability" line from Kellogg.

And I love 2K for doing that, in terms of the move. I hope they'll do well on Kerr's lines, because Madden's still sounds broken since they switched commentators.

*enters into game at the start of the 2nd quarter*
                *takes shot, misses*

"He's just been struggling this whole quarter to get anything to fall from the floor. "

                No, I missed a shot.

Agreed. He says it every game also, it's incredibly annoying.

Kerr is not replacing anyone he is being added, commentary will be a three man operation now.

A lot of them need to go. haha

That or they need to be reworded and mixed up with other phrases so it isn't so repetitive.

Like jumping over the backboard one on a dunk.

Just too good, way too good.. second defender on him.

"So both teams changing it up here." - Not really annoying but needs more variety.

The one about good foul, great foul make him earn his points at the line.

He's not gonna bite you get up in him!

Contact certainly off on that one.

When he announces how you switch your defense to zone or man, maybe just the wording is annoying.

What he hasn't done is hold onto the ball!

MAYBE I JUST PLAY THIS GAME TOO MUCH! I need to just hear some new commentary, but these are the ones I hear the most that makes me go crazy.

Some technicalities that I would like to be fixed:

                              - In my player, there should some progressive commentary. I know that they talk about you playing in your first game and when you start, but it just gets really annoying when you're the front runner for ROY and maybe even MVP, yet they still stay the stuff like how you're not always a threat etc.

                              - When they talk about how a player hasn't hit a shot in the entire half or quarter. And one of my biggest gripes: the line that is something like "I can't believe we've gone this far in the game and he STILL hasn't gotten a bucket" when the player obviously has already.

                              - And to reiterate other posters, the sprite spark of the night and the spurtability; and the changes in defense. I don't play online but it annoys me so much when I accidentally press the wrong button and they have a speech about how I'm trying to force the issue, force turnovers, close the paint, etc etc

Re: Commentary Lines that Need to Go

I know that a lot of people want and need the game to try and replicate a T.V. broadcast as much as possible for them to get maximum enjoyment from it, but I don't know how anyone who plays more than 10 games can stand to listen to the commentary in any sports game over and over and over again.

I know that budget, time, and hardware limitations handcuff the potential of the commentary, so I'm not angry at how repetitive it is, I'm just surprised that more people still find it more immersive to have it on instead of off.

If I had to listen to some of the inane lines that you guys mention above, 100's of times, I'd flip out and snap the game disk in half.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
