Re: Video card for 2K on PC

Ok I always wondered about getting a new video card since I usually cant run games on high specs noticed that with NBA 2k11. Only have no idea about them at all so if someone could help me out that would be great.

    Heres my specs
    Manufacturer: Dell
    Model: Inspiron 560
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93 GHz 2.94 GHz
    Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System Type: 64- bit Operating Syytem

Yeah I don't know if that's what you need for specs I'm very foreign to all that stuff, but any help would be great budget probably would be around $100 and less.

Well, first we need to know if you have the Slim case or a regular one. If it's a Slim this greatly limits your selection of GPUs to low-profile only models. Also, the Inspiron 560 only comes with a 300 watt, low quality, Power Supply (PSU). So that means you'd also need to purchase a new power supply before you would be able to add a discrete Video Card. This is going to cost you more than $100 of course.

Assuming you don't have the Slim model case I would suggest the following.

Again, for entry level budget cards you just really cannot beat the HD6770. Either of the following are good cards.

      XFX HD6770
Gigabyte HD6770 with free copy of DiRT 3

      Next, a Power Supply (PSU).
      Corsair CX430
      XFX PRO450w

Those are only a few options, but for the price there's not much better you can do. You're going to need to spend between $150 -- $200 for a solid PSU and GPU. No way to do it for less, at least not that I would recommend.

This is my computer info according to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ my computer isnt good enough but the card itself is good but the game works fine on my computer 2k10 and 2k11 work perfectly I can play on maximum on everything so with the card you should be fine

I can run NBA 2K11 with HD-Ultra Mod at 1920x1080 with 4x FSAA with 60fps, no Problem.

You don't need a High End GPU/CPU for ConsoleGame-Ports on PC. 2 Core CPU @2,5GHz and a solid 512MB GPU ~8800/9800GT or HD6770 should perfectly run any PC-Game until the new Consoles get out.
