Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
Hopefully persistent offense doesnt become another means to abuse using Melo and lebron online...there's already enough users who simply shoot every shot with these guys.
Also I hope 2k implements consequences for the constant pressure defense strategy such as faster fatigue. This is another thing that I foresee the majority of users online employing.
Other than that, playcalling sounds awesome. However, I wished you could choose quick plays where u decide which players post up.
as well as defending the paint (going under screens) and much more
cheesing is dead now, at this point its on u to execute
.....or so they say but Im excited, my fiance' has to go thru that week or 2 of neglect she went thru last year... lmaoXbox: got1coach313
All I play is 2k

I don't think you understand what I mean. If there IS a strategy to crash the offensive boards, that means you're telling your players to crash the boards while your teammate is shooting.
Leaking out is telling your players (guards primarily) to not box out and start to leak out TO start offense (being that you're already playing defense). It would make more sense for that to be on the defensive menu.
I'm just saying that it doesn't make sense to tell an offensive player to "Leak Out" if you already have the ball...where is he supposed to "leak out" to?Comment

Example: D strategy set on lock the paint/O strategy leak out Oponent strategy crash boards.
So against the oponent that mostly drives you are able to lock the paint and when he misses and crashes the board you have a player leaking and u can initiate a fast break. If leak was a D strategy it would prevent you from using the lock the pain options.“If you meet the Buddha in the lane, feed him the ball.”-Phil Jackson

Like others have said.... If you cant save the playbooks its 2k10 and 11 all over again. But I'm sure Czar had a voice in making sure that uers would be able to save plays. We can only hope.Dallas Mavericks ● Dallas Cowboys ● Texas Rangers ● Dallas Stars

I highly doubt cheesing will come to an end. The advanced cheesers will run money plays instead. That being said, I loved this insight. It seems like they're adding an element of human chess to the game and forcing people to use their minds instead.Comment

Your Brons and Melos are always going to be a pain in the *** man...(as they should be to an extent)
but 2k has been making it progressively harder to "cheese" IMO...Think about 2k8-10
Ive never felt more empowered to stop your LeBron types than I have in 2k11....post patch anyway...
I just KNEW the Heat would be ridiculously hard to stop in 2k11 but im honestly like 25+ and 5 against them....alot of those victorys with the Hornets.
if 2k12 is even a small step up well be fine.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
What is the counter to it? "Leak Out" pretty much is not crashing the boards in an attempt to get fast break points. I hope I don't have to go into the coaching menu to assign NOT crashing the offensive glass to defend against it.
I like the "Leak Out" adjustment, don't get me wrong. Just want to make sure it's balanced someway.
This sounds like a dream come true to the sim-heads! I'm especially excited about the inbound plays for some reason. Situational inbounding needed major attention and I'm glad they addressed it. I'm "so anxious" like Ginuwine!!!"I BALL FOR REAL, YALL DUDES IS SAM BOWIE."

2k already had versions of alot of these settings guys....these settings have never turned your team superhuman...
if the T-Wolves turn up constant defensive pressure, it doesnt mean theyll become the Celtics. Even WITH the Celtics...turning up d pressure left you open to cuts....theres an advantage/disadvantage to everything like it has always been im guessing..Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
I feel the same way but I hope if it is, it's adjustable. I want players to look like they've been playing 12 min. quarters even if they're only 5 min. Just some extended realism I guess. I dislike seeing guys full of energy closing out the game.San Antonio Spurs

My last game online was with the Nets against the Heat and after losing for the first 3 quarters, I held LeBron and Wade to 5 points in the 4th combined and scored 18 with Deron Williams to win by 14 (the kid literally tried to score with Wade or LeBron every possession).NFL: Bills
