This! The developers try to eliminate it as much as they can, but cheesers will cheese. They will find a way. But as long as we continue to voice how they cheese, I feel the developers will continue to refine the game and make it more difficult. I think the hop step and spin move cheese will decrease because it's no longer mapped to a button. Hopefully that means no more spamming that move/

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
I think cheesers cheese because quite frankly, they don't understand the fundamentals of the sport. Continuously trying to penetrate with Lebron James even though the path to the lane isn't open is simply evidence that the user doesn't know of any other way to score. Given the fact that the user had success using that strategy to begin with was either the result of poor gameplay mechanics or his opponent not discovering a way to stop him. In my opinion, there wasn't a single move a cheeser could use in NBA 2K11 that couldn't be countered with good defense. Once I figured out the cheeser's tendencies, it was pretty easy to predict what he was going to do on offense and adjust my defense accordingly.
The only advantage cheesers have online is that rank games are relatively short. In a full 48 minute game, I doubt cheesers would win any game because they wouldn't have the patience to stick it out against skilled users.Last edited by Mos1ted; 09-02-2011, 04:29 PM.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #4 - Playcall System
About the spin n hop step move mapped to the right stick... It might b an alternate control setting like alternate a or b to have the hop step etc on da button.. Regardless tho i mean advanced users like myself can easily get used to doin da hop step etc on da right stick so it dont make a difference to me..
Also idk wat cheesers yall play.. But da cheesers i play against all of da time knows basketball n r very skilled.. Im not talkin about da rank cheeser
Bums.. So da advanced cheesers kno all da glitches/ cheese money plays.. I dont get y u guys act like they not good at wat they do lol...Comment

I wouldn't say useless but I don't really like quick games and stuff. Playing team up with people you know and will play unselfishly is fun as hell.Comment

I'd imagine it works exactly the same as single player. During the timeout (as shown is the screenshot) all you are selecting is 1)Inbounder 2)Shooter and 3) Type of play. If you call the play after the time out, it should run just as you set it.San Antonio Spurs

He may be referring to that screenshot that shows how you're setting the play up. Not the best option to have when someone's sitting right next to you.Comment

I'm loving how you can control how your defenders deal with screens directly now.Comment

A cheeser or cheese tactics are strategies that are one dimensional and repetitive. If you made a comparison to the actual NBA, a cheeser could fall under a strictly spot shooter (ex. Kyle Korver). Kyle Korver is good at what he does and is STRICTLY a skill type player. No one is saying someone who does the spin dunk only is not skilled. I've played against cheesers that I had to compliment how great of a cheese it was after the game.
The point is that when you take away a cheesers sole dependent cheese tactic, they are not as good as believed. If you take away Kyle Korvers shooting, how good is he really?
The reason the Kobe's, the Lebron's and the Wade's are successful is because once you take away one of their strengths, they make you pay by another means.
In 2k, and maybe all sports games, there are some things you just can't take away from a gamer fairly...look at Fight Nights last patch lol.Comment
