Measuring teams vs teams just based on talent alone is only part of the equation. How the team fits together is more important than how much skill you have on your roster.Comment

I'd protect my legacy too if I was those dudes. As for the second video? Clearly that's somebody bitter about the Jordan Bulls putting together a video to fit his argument about why Jordan and the Bulls really weren't that great. We know this cause he brings up Jordan losing to the Celtics of the 80's like that's supposed to prove something. Jordan's teams in the 80's were trash and he still was dropping 60 on dudes. If he had even just the Pippen of the 90's in those days how would things be? We'll never know but trying to justify Jordan's Bulls not being able to beat Dr J's squads or Bird and the C's because he lost in the mid to late 80's is laughable.

so you're telling me that the 96 Bulls fit together perfectly but not the other teams mentioned?
because that would be straight up comedyComment

I know, lot of hating there
, everything we say is all speculation though
one gotta look at the matchups and timing too, that's the most important thing here imo
MJ dropped 60 on the 86 Cs but you gotta take in to account that he was almost their main offensive weapon, plus he was much more athletic than in 96 thus giving DJ (a strong defensive stopper but losing his athleticism at the time) much more trouble, plus they got swept in the series
only thing I am most def sure about is that in the 80's the 96 Bulls wouldn't go 72-10Comment

On topic:
Wow, MJ coming trough with a really good commercial, nice to see that.
Gotta agree with the '87 Lakers and '86 Celtics being able to beat the '96 Bulls and that the 80's were better in terms of teams and my team didn't even exist yet (OKC).Comment

Re: NBA 2K Debate, Michael Jordan Invitation - Pick Squad, Upload Video, End the Deba
I'm going to say something that makes no sense at all, yet it makes sense:
I think the '86 Celtics and the '87 Lakers were better than the '96 Bulls. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls could beat either team in a 7 game series. Why? I believe in my own two eyes, and I never saw MJ lose a Finals series. I think he would go down guns blazing if it went to a game 7, willing his team to a victory.
Now, as far as the league being "watered down" in 1995-96: you can't help who you play. The Bulls played 82 regular season games and won 72 of them--72! They received the schedule from the NBA and then proceeded to whoop butt.
For those who disagree, look at it this way: I BLEED Tar Heel blue, and although I hate that Duke won in 2010, I take absolutely nothing away from them. Duke by far had the EASIEST road to the Final Four I've seen in quite sometime, but it's like I said before--you can't help who you play. Duke beat everyone in front of them, much like the Bulls of 1996.Comment

Better overall team I can agree with that, being able to beat the 96 Bulls not so much. The 96 Bulls won 72 games because their team chemistry was off the charts everyone knew their role, they also had the Greatest to play the game a guy that refuse to lose that year. Michael was dominating the Celtics and Lakers as a rookie in the 80's it just took awhile for the Bulls to get him the help he needed to win a championship, I would take the 96 Bulls over any other team in the history of the NBA.Last edited by coolcras7; 09-09-2011, 06:39 PM.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

that's like saying I believe in my eyes and I never saw Jordan winning against those 80's teams, don't act like MJ never lost nothing
you can't help who you play of course but if you play weaker teams you got a better chance of winning, 96 Bulls in the 80's don't win 72 games period... compare the 80's teams against the 90's teams
you got some really good teams in the 90's but they don't compare to the 80's C's, showtime Lakers, fo-fo-fo Sixers, badboys Pistons, 80's Bucks... and also taking in account that some major 90's teams were already formed or almost formed in the 80'sComment

Re: NBA 2K Debate, Michael Jordan Invitation - Pick Squad, Upload Video, End the Deba
lmao, quit acting like their team chemistry was better than the 86 C's or showtime Lakers... they won 72 games because the league had some really good teams but many more terrible ones with the expansion and all, and because they had an amazing team with MJ and also Pippen, a top player in his own right
oh and I'm sorry for forgetting that 96 was the only year Jordan refused to lose
