I'm not even going to enter this discussion again because I've already said the Bulls in the 80's wouldn't amount to the same thing and the '87 Lakers and '86 Celtics could've beat them, but I gotta say this post made me laugh. I also got to agree that the 80's had far better teams, that's as far as my argument goes right now though, I debated this in the '86 Celtics thread the other day.

Re: NBA 2K Debate, Michael Jordan Invitation - Pick Squad, Upload Video, End the Deba
Not at all, the 90's had far worser teams and the East in the 80's was where the NBA had the greater amount of competition, what you said is just wrong. There were more bad teams in the 80's than in the 90's. The east was tougher in the 80's too by a wide margin. I love the showtime lakers and I don't think the 96 bulls can beat that team. But the celtics and the lakers owned the 80's and there were plenty of horrible teams in the 80's. There may not have been as many All-Time Great teams in the 90's, however the 90's, especially the early 90's was more balanced and was far from watered down.
2001 to 2008 was watered down also IMO. The league is now at a place were there are more strong teams and players.Comment

Wait a minute, I though you said the 80's had worser teams than the 90's and the East was much tougher in the 90's, if that wasn't it, I'm sorry. There were more bad teams in the 80's than in the 90's. You had 3-4 great teams in the 80's plain and simple, the 90's was more balanced and more teams had a chance to win a championship, 3-4 dominate teams does not make a better NBAthe Celtics and the Lakers won multiples, same for the Pistons, the Sixers dominated and still contended while they could... they dominated and conteded, they had a great team all-around, in a era full of great teams
they didn't even win a title, they didn't dominate, they couldn't compare to the best 80's teams, only the Bulls can, they were really good but not all time good, add that to the bunch of bad teams the 90's hadPSN=Coolcas7Comment

ther you go again talking out of ignorance... 3-4 great teams in the 80's plain and simple? lmao, fo real? you had great teams, winning lots of games and contending
in the 90's you had the Bulls winning it all and no other team dominating, not to mention those really bad teams like the Grizzlies, the Mavs, the '98 Nuggets, the Wolves, even the Celtics...
in the 80's you had the Lakers, the Celtics, the Sixers, the Pistons, the Bucks, the Mavs, the Hawks, the Jazz, the Bulls... great players and teams, some carried into the 90'sComment

really all you've said made me laugh, no pun intented but you got alot of ignorance going on... let me just ask you this: how old are you and when did you start watching basketball?
or: did you even know what you're talking about and watched games and know about the 80's and 90's? because those are my favorite eras, gotta mention thisComment

Yeah I am the ignorant one, you believe because great teams fell to the Bulls they were weak, which is pathetic, they ran into the team that happened to produce the man considered by many to be the greatest to play the game that is why they fell it had nothing to do with them being weak he was just better, and he made the players around him better and sequentially his team better than others.ther you go again talking out of ignorance... 3-4 great teams in the 80's plain and simple? lmao, fo real? you had great teams, winning lots of games and contending

Gotta agree with coolcras7 just because the bulls were dominate doesn't mean that there weren't great teams in the 90's and the bulls didn't start out great they had to take their licks and earn their stripesComment

I am going to share again this very interesting and nice read about the Bulls, which I happen to agree with. Mainly because I saw many of the teams mentioned actually play back in the day.

It's sad how people try to diminish the greatness of a team or player after the fact stop the bull**** comparisons and let history stand as it isComment

Re: NBA 2K Debate, Michael Jordan Invitation - Pick Squad, Upload Video, End the Deba
the 96 bulls is the greatest nba team for me. you got the rejuvenated michael jordan, the reliable partner pippen and the defensive force rodman, and the ever inspired bulls teammates. yall can say these 70s or 80s or 90s other teams can beat da bulls but how? make them play a 7 game nba finals series? against them 87 and 72 lakers, 86 celtics, and 67 sixers? ha!
bulls win some and lose some. pippen and rodman can be stopped and be rendered useless. but when da game is on the line especially in crucial moments yall cant contain michael jordan specially that unstoppabull michael jordan of 1996. you just cant.
jordan will just never lose in the nba finals against any other team you consider great.Comment

when did I say that? you're twisting my words... I said that the 96 Bulls are one of the best teams ever but the 86 Cs or the 87 Lakers could've beat them, and I said they got that record because the 90's had many really bad teams, I've never tried to discredit the really good 90's teams and the good competition they've faced, only said the 80's had better teams all aroundComment
