Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #10 - Controls
Hey Beluba...
Is it possible to do a crossover, step back hesitation, cross over to the other hand and finish.
Something like this.
Sorry for some reason won't let me post the video on here.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #10 - Controls
Time to dust off the PS3 tonight and get used to those new controls with the demo.
From everything said in the insight sounds like the game will be much more replayable than 2K11 already was.
Congrats!
PS : What's left for the insights? I'm interested in getting an audio insight.Comment

idk how these guys keep doing it every year. I wish all sports games got the dedication this team puts into the NBA 2K series. and they are already working on 2K13.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #10 - Controls
I consulted my high school coach (who's good friends with Mike D'Antoni and is now involved with the Knicks organization) on this issue. He's said it's perfectly legal to pivot after a hop-step if both feet land simultaneously.
When you do a staggered gather, the first foot to land becomes your pivot. When you hop-step and both feet land at the same time, you can essentially choose which foot landed "first", making that your pivot foot.
thankyou.
Pared you're just wrong.Comment

awesome...the reason 2k makes great games is because they have dedicated developers who know what they're doing...and they listen to the gaming community...
It says a lot about the character of the devs that Mike Wang didn't think the "walk up dribble" was that important, but he included anyway because a lot of people wanted it...
i remember last year around this time, we were discussing the addition of a "shot quality grade" feedback system on these forums, Mike Wang commented in the thread and said they might add it...and now it's in 2k12...just another example of the devs being willing to listen to the community.
2k makes great games because they have devs that are willing to go the extra mile, and who WANT to go the extra mile. it's their passion, and it shows.
i'm loving the addition of more "explosiveness" being added to quick ball handlers...in 2k11, it always felt like it took a bit too long for fast players to accelerate into a sprint...they would kind of almost take a couple of slow steps before they could build up their speed...i'm really looking forward to having that explosiveness when using players who have that ability in real life.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Developer Insight #10 - Controls
are steals fixed this year? how the person who poked the ball loose is suppose to be credited for the steal and not the one who picked up the ball. also sometimes when its a canned block animation, it would count as a steal instead of a block.
speaking of blocks, will recovering blocked shots count as rebounds? it didnt in 2k11
i know it has nothing to do with the insight, sorryComment
