Hate to be the bearer of bad news but for those who wished for the tightness the 2k series was known for before last year floaty animations you will still be disappointed.
It's better than last year but not by much.
Knowing 2k server issues it's going to be worst online and you probably won't notice much difference form last year.
If the movement feels the way it feels offline in the demo when you take it online. If they fix the servers. . It would be an improvement. But like I said. Barely.
Right now this demo can not compare at all to the tightness of 2k7, 2k8. 2k9 or 2k10.
Just take a step with your defensive man forward.
You stopped moving the stick but he's still moving forward.
It's no where near in real time. Why am I watching his two feet plant so slowly.
Which means there is no way you can feel like your on the court.
It's just not real. The animations still need to be tightened up.
Hopefully they have tightened it up a little before they release.
It's better than last year but not by much.
Looks like the fanboys are wetting their pants again when it's nowhere near necessary.
Yet every time I read a hands on preview they talk about how great the game feels compared to last year. Even though these same reviewers never made a peep about how bad the animations were last year. Neither did the fanboys. It was funny reading how last year was the greatest even though the animations were the worst the series has seen on the next gen.
I have both systems. I only played it on the 360.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
Is it October 4th yet?
I've played the demo about three times so far. The first time I played basketball and didn't give up a single field goal (I did give up four free throws, however). The next two times, I played video games and "lost" both times. I can't wait to play this game on the higher difficulty settings!
Like others have mentioned, this feels like a well-polished 2K11, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I was in the camp that thought 2K11 was a good game but had one of two nagging issues holding it back from true basketball replication. From the sample size I have of 2K12 so far, those nagging issues are dead and gone. The foul frequency is a lot better, the players have more weight to them, and the players do what you want them to do.
Again, I ask, is it October 4th yet?Last edited by Mos1ted; 09-20-2011, 10:02 PM.According to my old marketing professor, satisfaction is when product performance meets or exceeds consumer expectation.Comment

I"m probably a minority here, but I noticed less jaggies for PS3 demo compare to 2K11.Comment

Wow I see so little disparity between the PS3 & 360! They finally listened and delivered.Comment

Continually the best, most innovative game made. The presentation destroys any game since NFL2k5. It is basically nailing a TNT broadcast.
The controls feel weightier but I can't say I liked all of it. I love the collision detection though.
Can't wait for October 4th.Comment

With all the control you have in 2k12's demo, I'm surprised by your opinion. I feel like they reduced the momentum from 2k11. There has to be a trade off when you have all these move available to you.Comment

At first, I was thinking, "I don't get it. Still sloppy controls and movement..." then I put the demo down for a while after one play then returned for several games.
Now, I'm thinking, "Eh, not as sloppy but not as tight as people are overblowing it on Op. Sports. Maybe there's a version difference?". I haven't been wowed by this series in a long time, but, it's entertaining.
As for the graphics in this demo, on the PS3 - Ashy. Maybe I'm sitting too close to my TV or sumthin but that's the first word that came to mind but, then again, I think last year's was, too, but at least it's not jaggy. Graphics just don't pop in terms of resolution and the crowd looks faceless, from afar, and not sharp.
Debating on whether I will get this but then again, I already traded in 2K11, which I barely played. I must be an alien or sumthin. Sumthing about these controls and movement continue to irk me.Just cuz you pour syrup on ish....Comment
