It's just people didn't want to hear it then. And for good reason. This still sucks that we can't have 30 all-time teams, just 10.
SO I will go ahead and put you on the glass half empty team.

he got no choice lol. he really needed to do it fast (and he did) because he made a silly mistake early on (confirming legends cant be assigned to current teams) prompting many consumers to cancel the preorders they made for the game, including me.

I don't know why so many people are happy about this. This still REALLY sucks. The customization of the classic teams was literally the ONLY thing I was looking forward to.

Is it really true that we can't just create Charles Barkley, drop him into the free agents and then assign him to the 1985 Sixers? If so, why mess a good thing up 2K? I'm honestly considering not buying the game. I can't believe I'd ever say that...

Nah, I definitely appreciate what he did. He certainly didn't have to. As others mentioned, there were reports from other users in the Q & A thread who already claimed classic teams could be taken to Association. So his report conflicted the others, but he wasn't obligated to do anything. He was trying to help us out to see if completing the challenges would allow us to freely trade and assign classic players to whichever team we pleased. It didn't work, but there's a super weird association export limited workaround now.

Regarding the classic teams at this very moment, I am also a glass half empty guy. There's a lot of fun to be had, but definitely a blow to morale to learn the editing we all thought would be a foregone conclusion is suddenly absent.

I feel ya on this...the 85' sixers was the first team I was planning to unlock because of the new CAP system so I can create Barkley. blah...PC is the way to go but the modders are so damn finicky as they all just end up recreating the same damn player over and over again. 5 variations of D. Howard, 7 Kobe and 8 versions of Jordan....

I think I'm going to learn how to mod for the PC this year so I can just add and edit the missing legends...

He was not the one who created the thread spreading the false information, so no he did not have to do anything.

And also I was not the ONLY one or the 1st to report that you could not put legend teams into association

To be fair, our editing abilities of classic players seems to be a shell of what we were afforded in 2K11. Maybe 24th Letter wasn't exactly correct when he said there's absolutely no way to edit classic players, but he was close. The export trick seems to solve a very small amount of the issues that arise for those who are prime time classic team users.

For instance, at this point, there's still an inability to edit classic teams prior to the "Greatest" mode. This also means only 10-12 classic teams can be fully edited per roster file. This also seems to mean no classic season will be able to be naturally created by 2KShare users (i.e. portlandblazer). It also means even just simply wanting to send Clyde Drexler on over to the '94 Rockets in exchange for Otis Thorpe so we can create the '95 Rockets suddenly becomes significantly more difficult and annoying than it needs to be. It's similar to having the ability to automatically simulate to the next key game in My Player this year versus having to individually enter each game, select "Quit", then "Simulate to End", the quitting the menu, starting the next game and repeating the process. In essence, "simulating" in My Player was available last year, but it sure was a major pain. . .just as it seems classic roster alterations will be this year (unless of course we're missing a very big piece of information).

As far as I'm concerned, the person who originally posted that you can't release or trade legends from their classic teams is still correct!! You can't without going into association mode and working around it, which loses A LOT, like 20 slots, alternate jerseys, ect. Surely that guys intention was to point out how you can't customize legends teams like you could last year, so he was right. YOU CAN'T.

I might. But almost definitely not on release day. Unless better news comes out, I'll have to wait for the end of the lockout or see what rosters people can make with the rededitor or something. I was looking forward to getting it early to play with the classic Kings team, but they aren't worth 60 bucks.

more choices more fun. you just have to pick the best one for each player.
