Good review, though not that deep, but I guess after 2K11 there's no need to go that deep.

I would give 2K12 an additional 0.5 point for fixing the calf sleeves, arm sleeves the elbow bands. Even 2K11 didn't have that!

Able to accurately gauge a game through site alone. Why don't all reviewers use this amazing tactic? Just watch videos. Why actually PLAY the game to share a credible opinion on said game? It's 90% faster than the old method at least.

You're right. You can't review a game watching videos. But that's not what I did. I merely commented about what I see in this year's visuals alone, which you can evaluate reasonably by paying close attention to videos, screenshots, and playing the demo extensively. There's plenty to go on to weigh in on how the game looks and I'm not the only person to comment on how off some of the heads are. Unless you're saying I can't judge how something looks by... looking at them?

Granted I could be wrong and every team not named the Heat, Celtics, Warriors, Mavs, or Old School Magic look incredible, or the players I only saw in videos look strangely better in person, but I don't think that's likely.

I could also be wrong about the sweat trails and lighting effect being absent-- which is why I mentioned that I didn't see any trace of it yet.

for those that have seen it, about where does the "intro" star and finish? Don't really want to see any of it till I get the game.

ign review is on point. the gameplay is incredible and even better than last year. there is a learning curve though. the im still trying to learn the post game

Jokes do tend to be funnier when they're actually on point.


In other news: Argh. They have Monta Ellis's default role as "Starter", while Curry's listed as a "Star" in Association. Ellis is every bit as much of a star as Curry is for Golden State in how he's marketed, how plays revolve around him, and how much noise there is about him, if not more so. GSW fans might argue whether this should be the case, but that's the way it is right now. But I have to admit he looks slightly better in IGN's video than I've seen elsewhere.

Addendum: Dang, the Bulls look great. Boozer, Noah, and Rose especially. They must have put their best artist on them. If your team made or won the Finals, don't expect that much of a visual improvement. You stand a better chance if you were eliminated with the MVP or were swept by the Mavs. (Odom didn't look too hot though from what I saw though. Almost like an Easter chocolate sculpture of Odom.)

this thread is one of the main reasons why i don't post on the NBA forums that much anymore....

too many sensitive guys roam around between this fourm and the defunct competitor forum....

one guy say's he loves the game and another guy crucifies him

If a guy say's he doesn't like the game 90% of the time it's because he's a *****!

If one of the review companies give the game a 8.0 or 7.5 it's because the reviewer is an idiot and doesn't know a thing about basketball.....

This is the world of the OS community when it comes to reviews every year....you either have an agenda, your a ***** or your a fanboy there is no in between.....

Knew they wouldn't give a 10 (see excessive ramblings in other threads), but this was exactly what I was waiting for. I wanted IGN's reputable, game-critic-caliber review to assure me that it is that much better than 2K11. Now that I have it, pre-ordered.

PS. About pre-ordering. Get it on Amazon.com NOW. You get $10 Amazon credit when it ships, and you can get Release-Date Shipping for (I think) $0.99. 1-Day Shipping for me would have been $9.99 so this seems like a no-brainer.

Probably the most I'm excited for a a 2k game since last year lol..

2k just raised the bar and I'm happy a more commercial reviewer(even though IGN's just as geeky as the rest of us)sees this.

Everything I'm hearing is great. I just wanna see a better Larry Bird representation and I'll be ecstatic come Tuesday morning
