I'm using the Cavaliers in my Online Association. First game agianst Boston comes up. My lineup is PG-Davis SG-Parker SF-Eyenga PF-Jamison C-Varejao. Game starts, and Boston is out and running all over me. I'm attempting to find my offense, cause my defense is decent enough, but no offense to score point. Time goes by, and here we are in the 4th quarter with about 7:00 left and I'm down 15. Not looking good. Boston takes their starters out, and I go on a nice little run. Its 89-82 Boston now and they bring starters back in. Back and forth we go trading baskets, then I get some stops and scores and a little later there is 8 seconds left and it's 103-100 Boston. Inbound the ball, looking for Baron Davis to get open, but he's got no space. Kick it to Jamison and he has to fire a 3 as the buzzer goes off....and he nails it!!! We go to OT!! OT starts and again, Boston goes up 5 quickly. Go to about 30 seconds left, and Boston is up by 1. Jamison then hits the 3 with 22 seconds left for a 2 point lead. Boston misses the 2 pointer and the Cavs pull out a 116-114 victory. Unbelievable first game. 81 more to go. Best 2K game I've ever played.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Hey I've got some online association questions if anyone can help me:
1. How often does your online association advance if you set it to fast?
2. Is there anyway possible to start an online association with rookies? I downloaded a roster that has rookies but I can't figure out how to get that roster to load in to my OA. I also thought that they would at least have generic rookies, but instead they have none.DSM Transfer.

I'm currently using the lakers...
I noticed that their player salaries are above the hard cap so I made a couple of trades to clear some cap space...
I traded bynum for Nene + 2 1st round draft picks from the nuggets
I traded artest for Klieza + 2 1st round draft picks from the raptors
Here's my starting lineup right now:

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I am in an offline fantasy draft with a couple friends i have
PG: D. Rose
SG: M. Thorton
SF: D. Granger
PF: S. Ibaka
C: R. Hibbert
Bench-
TJ Ford
T. Allen
M. Bonner
Udoh
G. Neal
I traded bench depth for Udoh and T. Allen... both are very nice defensive compliments to an otherwise offensive bench. Also just to add gary neal is a pretty good offensive player without giving up too much on defense for his low ranking definitely worth a look for an easy trade.
Can anyone confirm exactly how the NBA potential system works... In madden if they are an A potential then they can reach 90-99 b is 80-89 is the NBA system similar or not at all lolComment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
if you see a "free agent" with A potential who is 24 yrs old and is currently a 56 OVR, you could pick him up but he won't be contributing until at least 3-4 years and maybe even then will only be around 70s OVR
compare that to a top 5 pick, who has an A pot starting off at 77 and it will only take him 2-3 years to break mid-top 80's OVR, and when he enters his 4th-5th-6th years, 90s OVR
potential isn't the end-all/be-all.. everything takes time, you have to develop him properly as well utilizing Training Camp in the offseason as well as keeping him happy to get the coaching boosts to his OVR
have fun!Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I started my season with the New Jersey Nets. I'm currently 11-11 on a 4 game winning streak (last 2 victories coming off buzzer beaters with D.Will.). I'm just playing my games thinking about acquiring a SF that can play perimeter D since we slack on defense and that can also shoot the ball to compliment my style of run n gun. I'm thinking about doing a trade before the ASW don't know exactly when but it'll happen. I want this trade to be a big blockbuster trade. However teams usually ask for D.Will and/or B.Lopez which is not something I'm willing to sacrifice. I've looked at players who I can trade for. So far I've looked at the pistons on working a deal for T.Prince and R.Hamilton.
However they're aging and I have a vision on having young talented guys. The Magics are also willing to trade me Hedo which i've given alot of thought to. I mean having D.Will/Morrow/Turkoglu, we're gonna murder from behind the arc. I've also kept an eye on D.Wright who has B+ perimeter D and B- outside game. Not bad for what I'm looking for but eehh? idk if I can consider that a blockbluster trade since i'm trying to put the Nets on the map.
The player I would LOVE to acquire would be Josh Smith from the Hawks. Perfect to bring that Defensive energy to the team and can also run and throw it down!! however the Hawks are asking for players that I'm trying to use in my rebuilding process...
i'll keep playing more games as I put more thoughts into who will acquire but so far it looks like it'll be Turkoglu...Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
11 days(2K days) into our Online Association and things seem to be running smoothly so far.
My only gripe is that we can't reset games. However, most of the games that drop don't seem to get counted and can just be replayed.
We have a full 30 users, fantasy draft, and our league advances 1 2K day every 6 hours in the real world. So 4 2Kdays every 24 hours. It seems to be a good pace. As long as you play your earlier scheduled games first, getting games simmed shouldn't be a problem.
I got the Knicks with Nash, Ben Gordon, Battier, Bosh, and Robin Lopez. We are currently 5-3. Bosh was named Player of the Week in the 2nd week of the season.
Injuries work this year so your bench actually matters. The better you do in the season, the more reward points your team gets for Training Camp in offseason.
Overall, I'd give 2K12's Online Association a B grade. It's def not perfect. Admins and Commish need to be given more control over sliders, resets, etc. But for 2K's first attempt at Online Assoc its not bad. Madden still doesn't have salary cap and 2K does in it's first go.
BTW, our league uses a chatroom to organize and schedule games. I imagine that leagues who don't communicate in other forms instead of just XBL will crash and burn, because you cannot tell who is online from the league menu and if you miss the dates of certain games they get simmed.Lineup:

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Just started an offlin association on PC with the Sacramento Kings...I've downloaded today the new roster with the rookies made by someone and i have to say it's great...and so i have traded Donte Greene and Marcus Thorton for Houston's SF Terrence Williams....and i also traded Eugene Jeter and Samuel Dalembert for Miami's first round pick Norris Cole (A grade from outside) and Zydrunas Ilgauskas...i don't know if this trades are good or not...
I've just finished playing my first game @Dallas and i won 95-91 with a great performance from Tyreke (25 points 5 reb 6 asists 1 steal) while my second scorer was Jimmer Fredette 21 points...great 3 point shooter...I will come back with my next game against the San Antonio Spurs...
What do you guys think about my trades?...Till now it's all good it seems !Now playin':
Madden 22 with Cleveland Browns
NHL 22 with Las Vegas Golden Knights
NBA 2k22 with Golden State Warriors
FIFA 22 with FC BarcelonaComment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I'm having a blast in my AssociationI use the Knicks and currently entering my 3rd year and it's been a wild ride so far! But truth be told.. I am now feeling "the window" closing effect.. 3 years in and so far I've made some boneheaded moves but everything I do centers around one philosophy which is to keep my core Knicks intact.. but I now feel the window starting to close so hopefully my team puts it together
quick summary
Year 1
- surprising season, 2nd seed in the playoffs
- back2back game 7's against the Nets and Magic
- eliminated in 2nd round by the eventual champion Magic
Year 2
- traded away Chauncey Billups thinking Toney Douglas is ready to run my team, big mistake
- started the season 0-3, made in-season trades, lost Carmelo for 8 weeks aka the majority of the year
- team came together and made a playoff push and Carmelo returned
- 5th seed, eliminated by the Bulls in 6 games 1st round
- Miami Heat finally won the championship
Year 3
currently underway! love it!

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Fantasy drafted, 30 team offline assoc., serpentine starting with 20th pick, with the soon to be BROOKLYN nets. (that'd be a great feature to add... the ability to relocate a team)
PG - George Hill / Eric Bledsoe
SG - Wesley Johnson / Anthony Morrow
SF - Dorell Wright / Sonny Weems
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge / Kris Humphries
C - JaVale McGee / DeAndre Jordan / Shelden Williams
Pretty much built on potential. Lots of cap space to sign extensions etc. Can't wait to see how this team is in 3/4 years time. They'll all be around 26-29 and hopefully in their primes.DALLAS 2011 MAVERICKS

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
UPDATE:
Just simmed through all but 3 of my first 29-game season. Finished 13-16, only good enough for 10th in the East. Sad, but thanks to my keen trading for (what I believe are) undervalued players, I managed to secure 4 first round picks.
Going into the draft lottery I had odds for the 2nd, 7th, and 11th picks.
My 11 dropped to 12
My 7 dropped to 8
My 2 ROSE TO 1.
Ecstatic right now.
I signed G. Hill, J. McGee, and E. Bledsoe to hefty 6 year contracts with the works (to lower salary as much as possible), and they improved by 3, 5, and 2 respectively after the end of the season.
Giddy for the direction this team is heading.DALLAS 2011 MAVERICKS
