Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I'm not sure what it has to do with laziness (troll), I'm trying to ask if it's the same timing or different in a 29 game season. If it goes by the same time scale, then OBVIOUSLY I can do the math but I'm not assuming anything with these developers.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Just won a game against Indiana 99-91. We beat the TO battle and only allowed 1 3pt. My PG Cameron had 30 pts, 10 assists, 6 rebs, 4 steal. newly aqcuired PF had 14pts and 8 rebs. That is pretty much what I want on a nightly basis. Other guys provided high %. Losing Sullinger, I lose 20pt scorer. But, I have multiple guys that I can score.
Im simming most of the games. In are last 20 games, We are 16-4(9-1 in last 10 games). We are #1 in Conference and Power Ranking.

I've been seeing posts about the record and stats glitch. is there anyway to avoid it at all?

Well I have decided to restart my association to keep the teams as realistic as possible after today's NBA trade deadline trades. I am going to use the Los Angeles Lakers. 82 game season, no trade override, all star difficulty, and simulation game style. After only 5 trades, this is what my team looks like.

          Starting Lineup:
          Pg. Ramon Sessions
          Sg. Kobe Bryant
          Sf. Metta World Peace
          Pf. Josh Smith
          C. Andrew Bynum

          Backups:
          Pg. J.J. Barea
          Sg. Leanardo Barbosa
          Sf. Matt Barnes
          Pf. Jason Thompson
          C. Jordan Hill

          Bench Warmers:
          Sg. Andrew Goudelock
          Sf. Tyler Honeycutt

I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere:

When the trade deadline approaches, do computer controlled teams tend to cram in as many trades as they do in real life? Or does the trade deadline have no effect other than the fact that you can no longer trade after that date?

In my experience, you'll be offered a few trades before the deadline. But it doesn't seem as if as many are accomplished in that last day as in real life.

                  So unrealistic:

In 4 seasons, my raptors starting 5:

                  PG: Kyrie Irving(92)
                  SG: James Harden(87)
                  SF: DeMar DeRozan(91)
                  PF: Derrick Williams(90)
                  C: Blake Griffin(94)

                  Without any trade overrides.

Also, why does every player in the league other than mine have morale issues?

Couple quick questions for the masses.

For you guys who play 82-game seasons, what kind of guidelines do you set for yourselves to expedite your season? (how many games are you simming vs. playing to keep from burning out?)

How current are the OA rosters now that the deadline has passed?

Were in our first season- conference finals playoffs. In the WCF game 1 was locked but it let them play games 2-5 and now there's no way to go back and play game 1 and the league is "stuck". has anyone heard of this happening before?

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

After the trade deadline, I decided to do a new association: this time without my hometown 76ers (even though Sam Young would help,) and this time without one team, but two: the Orlando Magic and the Sacramento Kings.
I know, none of these teams made trades at the deadline, but the fact that Howard decided to stay is really big, and I always liked the Kings. They have alot of young potential in Jimmer Fredette, Tyreke Evans, Demarcus Cousins, Isiah Thomas, etc. and some cap room to work with.
I downloaded the official trade deadline roster; then reflected the draft pick moves into the game so it wouldnt be like the Cavs were trading Ramon Sessions for Luke Walton, etc. I made some moves with both teams-
MAGIC receives: SF Michael Beasley, SG Malcom Lee
Timberwolves receives: '12 1st, '13 1st, Daniel Orton, JJ Redick.
Reasoning: Dwight needs someone to work with; and the fact that the Magic went out and acquired Beasley shows him they're serious about a championship and the state/future of the organazation. (Slight Note: JJ Redick will start at SG for the Wolves, & I moved Derrick Williams to SF so they won't have Martell Webster starting.) Beasley has been on the block; and the Timberwolves couldnt turn down 2 firsts and the intriguing potential of Daniel Orton(never understood why he has 3 star trade value; and no I didnt edit him nor use trade override, and Redick was just a cap throw-in, but eh... He's a starter anyway.)
                          Magic receives: Cole Aldrich
                          Thunder receives: Quinton Richardson
Reasoning: The Thunder's backup SF was Lazar Hayward and I had no back up center after trading Orton. They get a sharpshooter off the bench that'll help them in their run for the championship.

                          Slight Notes:
PF Justin Harper sent to D-league
                          SG Von Wafer released
PG Chris Duhon traded for 2nd rounder to Cavs

Coaching changes: Fired assistant coach, NBA scout, prospect scout and trainer.
                          Hired: Assistant- 1yr/1.58M C offense A defense A teacher B potential

                          KINGS
                          Kings receives: '13 2nd round
                          Pacers receives: John Salmons
Reasoning: The Pacers consider themselves championship caliber; and adding John Salmons and Leandro Barbosa is making the league start to consider them championship caliber as they now have as much depth off the bench as the last year Dallas Mavericks. Cap-dump for us.

                            Which team looks better?
                            PG- Ricky Rubio, Jose Calderon
SG- Demar DeRozan, Tony Allen, Mike Dunleavy
SF- Paul George, Carlos Delfino, Lineas Kleiza
                            PF- Andrea Bargnani, Amir Johnson
C- Marcin Gortat, Jonas Valanciunas, Drew Cook

The above is my current assoication team in NBA 2k12 (Raptors, first year, no fantasy draft, no force trades)

I was thinking whether I should pull a trade a nowitski trade to make my team look like this...

                            PG- Ricky Rubio, Dhantay Jones
SG- Demar DeRozan, Tony Allen, Mike Dunleavy
SF- Paul George, Carlos Delfino, Lineas Kleiza
                            PF- Dirk Nowitski, Amir Johnson
C- Andrea Bargnani, Jonas Valanciunas, Drew Cook

I will lose calderon as a good back up point guard and will lose the defense and rebounding of gortat, but I get the clutch shooting and star power of dirk, dirk and Bargs together would be monster on offense, just worried bout the rebounding and post defense.

Varejao isnt happy with the direction of the team in my Cavs association. Where would be a good place to send him?

I would have to go with the Celtics. Really no front court depth at all, you could probably get some type of pick for him or if you want a center back for Verejao, Jermaine O'Neal would most likely be a trade piece they would throw in.
