Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

So I will be playing one game a week in this association
I will update after a NBA week progresses.
I will only trade using trade finder, I won't set up my own.

Tried to keep most of the team, though I only managed to keep 4 people .-.

    PG: Devin Harris/George Hill/Zabian Dowdell

Devin Harris is not a bad PG but he is getting up there on the years. I am hoping George Hill can replace him in a year or two, but until then, he is a back-up PG using minutes to improve. Zabian Dowdell is a great 3 point shooter, and is there if one of the point guards, most likely Devin Harris, gets injured.

    SG: Stephen Jackson/Deshawn Stevenson/Ime Udoka

Stephen Jackson was acquired by dishing out Kirilenko and Hayward, and while it is sad to see Hayward go, we still have young talent in Derrick Favors among other players with a few years of experience. Jackson will very greatly improve Raja Bell's previous starting position. Deshawn Stevenson will be a valuable back-up, capable of taking Jackson's place if he gets hurt, and Ime Udoka is a FA scrub I signed just to have an emergency back-up.

    SF: Jared Dudley/Danilo Gallinari/Antoine Wright

Though not as solid as AK47, Dudley will be helpful for the Jazz, for a team that sucked from three point range last year, I am hoping Dudley can help Jazz get back on track. Danilo Gallinari will be useful and may even swap Dudley spots if Dudley doesn't produce, and Antoine Wright, like Ime Udoka, is a FA 3rd string SF

    PF: Paul Millsap/Derrick Favors/Jeff Adrien

"You've just been Mill-Slapped!" I would never get rid of fan favorite and ever-improving Millsap, but Derrick Favors may just demote him to starting SF or 6th Man in a few years, until then, Favors will be a handy replacement to #24. Jeff Adrien is a D-Leaguer who can be valuable in a year or two, until then, he was hired, and sent to the Stampede.

    C: Al Jefferson/Brad Miller

The only undermanned spot in my roster, Al Jefferson is sure to stay, but you will see Derrick Favors spend a lot of time at both PF and C positions, and Brad Miller, though being my only other C, won't see much time due to lack-luster defense and promoting younger player development, Brad Miller is an emergency reserve due to that.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I started at association with the twolves and downloaded the best rosters I could find and the best draft class for 2012 I could find and made a few edits to potential so the league isn't full of 2 year kobe's.

At the moment my team is lookin good in year 2. I acquired Nash through trades for his last season in the league and to give Rubio another year to develop. My team is young and most of my key players are under long-term contracts now. My focus was to build an offensive juggernaut and currently my team is 4 in the league offensively and 16 defensively.

      PG: Nash, Rubio, Ridnour
      SG: Johnson, Austin Rivers
      SF: Beasley
      PF: Derek Williams, Jared Sullinger
C: Love, Randolph, and M. Morris.

Im enjoying playing with this line-up but I dO struggle defending the post. I've been debating trading either Beasley or Derek Williams because they play a lot alike and Williams is a bit undersized for the PF spot but Beasley is a terrible defender in the post. Anthony Randolph is easily my favorite player and I put him through weight training in the off-season to add a little weight and strength. Next season I'll have Rubio starting probably so I'm working with him a lot as well. I'm currently 4-1 in year 2.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

So a few things before I make my week 1 update.
I was going to edit these into my previous post, but decided to wait for the update instead.
Ime Udoka is the SF while Antoine Wright is the SG but considering both play both positions, it doesn't really matter. What I did mess up on though is that I forgot to mention my other PF, Ersan Ilyasova, who I plan to play the 4 spot with to free up Derrick Favors to focus more on the 5 spot.

        WEEK 1 UPDATE

I found out that of my many expiring contracts this year, the only one set on not returning is Ersan Ilyasova, and while saddening, my 4 spot is particulary strong, though his outside shooting will be missed.

        GAME 1
The first game of the season was against the Houston Rockets. While Houston led the whole game, it wasn't particulary a blowout, the game ended 108-104 with Houston winning.

Louis Scola had 27 points, and 12 rebounds, and made a good percentage of his shots. Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry also played solid, with Lowry also getting a double-double. Courtney Lee was quiet, and had only 2 points, on 0-2 shooting, and didn't really contribute defensively with only 2 rebounds and a steal.

Stephen Jackson didn't have the best FG% but had 23 points, and 8 assists. Devin Harris had 6 turnovers but 5 steals, and Al Jefferson had a double-double. Deshawn Stevenson didn't produce, and had no points, and was 0-3, he also had 3 turnovers.

        GAME 2
We played the Grizzlies, and it was close until the end. Jazz won 95-91 however.

The most productive player was Stephen Jackson once again, with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and a few blocks and steals. Devin Harris produced as well, and Paul Millsap almost had a double-double (9 Points, 10 Rebounds). Deshawn Stevenson once again had a 0 point night, out of 0-3 again! He didn't turnover the ball this time though.

The Grizz had Zach Randolph with 25 points and a few steals and blocks. Rudy Gay and Mike Conley both were close to double-doubles as well. Shane Battier had a quiet night, 0-1 and 0 points, with three rebounds and one assist... just horrible.

        GAME 3

Rematch with Houston yeah! The game was back and forth, but with the Jazz's Spurtability (I couldn't resist) They came back from an 8 point deficit to a commanding 14 point lead, the high scoring game ended 124-110

Paul Millsap was a monster in that game, carrying the team with 39 points, and 14 rebounds. Jackson had 16 points and 2 steals and 3 blocks, and Harris had 12 points and 8 assists with 4 steals. For the 3rd time in a row, the back-up SG Deshawn Stevenson struggled, with 2 points, and a block and steal, and 1-4.

Luis Scola was once again dominant, with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Terrence Williams produced well, and Patrick Patterson had a double-double. Chuck Hayes had only 2 points on 1-1 shooting, and 5 rebounds and was quiet.

        BAD NEWS
In Game 3, Devin Harris twisted his ankle, which should heal in a few days, but then soon after George Hill replaced him, Luis Scola got caught onto Hill and Hill sprained his ankle badly, and is out for 2-4 weeks. I probably will sign a free agent PG, and if I like him, and he produces, I'll send him to the D-League, if not, I'll waive him when Hill get's better.

Week 2 probably going to be updated Wednesday.

          Online Association injuries?

Just wondering if anyone is getting any injuries in association online mode. I have played 15 games and there has not been 1 injury in the entire league, is this normal or does the offline mode have more injuries thus making it more realistic?

I'm still wondering how is that team rated 16 in defense, the only guy who plays some kind of D there is Wes Johnson. Ricky should be the best defender but for some reason 2k believes he is an offensive player and didn't give him the defensive attributes he deserves

              Nice team by the way

Oh, and Antoine Wright sprained his wrist during a game on week 2. You should consider yourself lucky to not have any injuries yet, but they will come eventually, just revel in not having any for the moment.

Currently sitting at 2-1 in the first year of my 58 game Cavs association. After getting stomped by 20+ in the first game by the Pacers i've won the past two beating the Hawks and Suns. Made a few moves after the blowout and here's how my startin 5 is looking. C-Andy V PF-Antwan Jamison SF-Casspi SG-Shannon Brown PG-Kyrie Irving. Next game up is against John Wall and the Wizards.

I was going to update today instead of tommorrow, with two weeks update, but I've had a **** day, and just when you think your ****** day can't get any worse, and just when you are on the melting point and just want to relax and play some 2K, you have the most annoying, most cheap game ever against the Thunder and get blown out.
I was getting called for fouls when the player wasn't even doing anything, while they were hacking me, but they just counted the hacking as blocks or steals. This is all typical 2K12, but the rate at which it was happening, as well as how horrid the AI was ******* me over was enough to have me yelling obscenities at the screen. This was how bad it was.

                      Total Fouls
Mine: 33, 4 players fouled out, all starters...
Them: 10, yeah, something wrong yet? they were being more aggressive than I was.

The game ended in a 25 point slaughter, with the Thunder getting away with everything. They ended up with 153 points in the ******* game, the only way I kept up was to jack up threes.

                      I'll update tommorrow, I don't even give a **** today anymore.

First half in my Association with the Nets, I went 29-28. So far in the Second half I'm 1-2 which makes my record 30-30 (T-7 in Eastern Conference). Although I'm 1-2 in the second half my team is looking good lost a close to Dallas and beat the Spurs on the road. My second loss came because I simmed 1 of my back to back home games vs the Magics (BORING!). Turkoglu is getting starting to fit in the team more and is improving his play. I hope to make a nice strong run the second half and land the 6th spot in the conference to hopefully play the Celtics which im 2-0 against and feel confident I can knock them out in an upset in the playoffs!

I'm going to be starting up an association when the lockout ends in a week or so. I'm going to be the Cavs, Trail Blazers, or the Knicks. I'm not sure yet... I was considering the Bobcats then I decided no. Will make my decision by lockout end...

                                WEEK 2 and 3 UPDATE

                                GAME 4
Short-handed and against the Miami Heat, I was expecting a blow out, but the game ended 98-97, being tied at the half, and Miami winning by just one point.

Lebron James contributed for the Heat with 31 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. The other two of the big three also produced, with Wade also scoring 31, and Bosh having a double double. Udonis Haslem was surprisingly quiet on the offensive end, with just 2 points on 1-2 attempts, but he snagged 9 rebounds.

Paul Millsap led the Jazz with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and filling up the stat sheet with everything else. Jared Dudley had a solid game, almost scoring a double double. and Zabian Dowdell had a great back-up PG game. He scored 12 points in 9 minutes on 3-6 and was 3-4 from three point range. Derrick Favors was quiet with just 2 points and 4 rebounds as well.

                                BAD NEWS
Antoine Wright sprained his wrist, and will be hurt for several weeks, Ime Udoka will be taking his position in the line-up.

                                OTHER NEWS
Sherron Collins was signed to a small contract while George Hill is out and Devin Harris is receiving limited minutes from his injury, but he didn't really get many minutes this game.

                                GAME 5
Against the Magic, the injury-plagued Jazz pulled out a 88-86 win with an amazing 3rd quarter. both teams were very effective this game. Many players also shined in this game.

Paul Millsap led the way for the Jazz, with 3 blocks, 21 points, and 11 rebounds. Al Jefferson also produced, with 15 points and just 2 rebounds short of a double-double. Gallinari, in his limited minutes, also added another 10 points. Deshawn Stevenson, who seems to not just be able to get into the Jazz way of playing, went 0-4 and had zero points, and if he continues to play like this, he will continue to be demoted, once being the 7th man, he is now the 9th, and he could always be trade bait.

Dwight Howard had a very impressive game, with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Gilbert Arenas looked like has younger self, with 22 points and 6 assists. and Brandon Bass was 1 rebound away from a double-double. Quentin Richardson did very little in this game, scoring 2 points, and having 3 rebounds.

                                GAME 6

The Hawks were next to play against the Jazz, and it was not a pretty game. A 38-12 first quarter basically screwed the Jazz over from the get-go, and they lost 98-82 in a game where they were just outmatched.

Joe Johnson had 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Josh Smith produced with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals and as well as blocks, showing why he is a defensive monster. Marvin Williams also had a great game, with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Zaza Pachulia did not do much in this game, and it just showed that the Hawks need a lot more depth at the 5.

Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap both contributed with double-doubles for the Jazz, and Stephen Jackson had 15 points and 4 steals to boot, but to win a basketball game, you usually need more than a few people working, and tonight nothing was clicking.

                                GOOD NEWS
While only being able to play very limited minutes, George Hill came back ready to play for the Jazz today, Zabian Dowdell has been an impressive emergency point guard.

                                OTHER NEWS
Sherron Collins was sent to the D-League, but the debate on whether to waive him at the end of the year, earlier than that, or to just try and develop him has been occuring, but it is too soon to tell.

                                GAME 7
The Jazz are 3-3 and they went up against the Bobcats, if there was ever a game they should win, it was this one. Stephen Jackson showed the Bobcats his true skill in this game, and did not disappear in the face of his old team.

Jackson had 28 points and filled the stat sheet, Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap also filled the stat sheet, and between all three of them, they had a combined 56 points, 19 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks. Deshawn Stevenson for the umpteenth time, had a horrible game, getting only 1 point and 1 steal out of 0-4

Tyrus Thomas contributed with 20 points for the Bobcats out of
7-11 shooting, and Gerald Henderson added another 17 points. Boris Diaw also added 10 points and 3 blocks. Dominic Mcguire only took 2 shots this game, and made only one of them, and was just unproductive this whole game.

                                GAME 8
The Jazz played the other Big Three, with Anthony, Stoudamire, and Billups. they did manage to pull off the W with a third quarter surge leading to a 108-104 victory. Stephen Jackson had a quiet game, but in his absence, a player had the chance to shine.

Paul Millsap had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Danilo Gallinari also had an impressive game, with 7-8 shooting and 15 points. Deshawn Stevenson, yes, DESHAWN STEVENSON, had a good game with 13 points with 3-5 attempts. Jared Dudley, usually consistent for the Jazz, only took 1 shot attempt, and missed. He had 6 rebounds but just did not show up for the game.

Carmelo Anthony dominated this game, with 21 points and a
mind-boggling 17 rebounds, it's a surprise how the Jazz won. Chauncey Billups added another 23 points, and Andy Rautins had 12 points of 4-5 shots, 3-4 being taken from 3 point range. Roger Mason did not contribute at all in his 20 minutes of game-time, having no shot attempts, and his statsheet only had 1 rebound on it, that was it.

                                FUNNY NOTE
I was annihilating the Bobcats by 20, and Deshawn was actually being productive, and a glitch then occurred, and a tip in was said to be out of bounds, and then the ball disappeared .-. You could see the shadow but the ball was invisible, half-time didn't help fix the problem, and neither did time-outs or fouls, worrying it might mess up the mode, I just quit the game and just simmed all of Week 2 -____-'

Before I update Week 3, I have a question, I don't want to add pictures or anything, but is that a guideline for a Dynasty Topic? Asking since I always feel horrible adding such massive posts to the Association topic if I could do a dynasty topic ._.
