As the Pistons, I acquired Derrick Rose! However, it did cost Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe. I also recieved a first-rounder from Chicago.

I had also acquired Andrea Bargnani at the low cost of Charlie Villanueva. I did have to swap a first rounder for a second rounder, too.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Are all of you getting the team record bug in the second season? Where there are at least 2 teams (one user team) have about double the amount of games played than the rest of the NBA?

I get the bug whether it is a 14, 29, 82 game schedule.

Any workaround for this? I really want to start an association, but the crazy, and incorrect records will annoy me. Thanks.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Just finished a tough season with the Denver Nuggets. Finished 4th in our Division with a record of 30-52, We just couldn't stay healthy. Then when we did actually get healthy it was just too late to make a push for a playoff spot. Here are some of the injuries I had to deal with

Wilson Chandler missed about a month
        Birdman 3-4 weeks
        Gallo missed 2-3 weeks
        Al Harrington 2-3 weeks
        Javale Mcgee 1-2 weeks
Marshon Brooks had nagging injuries here and there all year

During the year I didn't make to many moves to change up the roster. I believe I only made two trades which was

        Clippers get:
        Jordan Hamilton/2012 2nd round pick
        Nuggets get:
        Travis Leslie/Trey Thompkins

I did this because I already had Wilson/Gallo locked into 5 year deals so it made no sense to keep another young SF who would barely see the court. I traded for a young athletic SG who I want to make into a defender. Then a young PF to replace Al Harrington, just because he doesn't fit what I do.

I made one final move towards the deadline, as much as I loved him and his play he just wasn't working with me

        Nets Get
        Danillo Gallanari/2013 second rounder
        Nuggets Get
        Marshon Brooks/2012 first rounder

I couldn't stand having a back up making nearly 10M a year when I know I have to pay Javale Mcgee and Ty Lawson plus try to bring in some talent plus I needed a 2 guard because as great as Aaron was defensively he just wasn't getting done offensively.

        Offseason

I resigned Javale Mcgee to 5 year 48M contract, I feel like 2012/2013 he will dominate

I declined Ty Lawsons team option hoping to just resign him until I saw he wanted a 5 year 102M contract. I'm sorry but im not paying 102M for and undersized point guard averaging 13ppg and 7apg so I let him walk

I declined Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins options and resigned each to 5 year contracts, another year in the D-League and I believe these guys will be ready to make an impact

        Draft

        I had the 3rd and 10th pick

With the 3rd pick I was going to take Perry Jones he was the best player in the draft to me even though my best player already is a SF but Washington took him with the 2nd pick so I packaged my 3rd overall pick and Wilson Chandler and sent him to Washington for Perry Jones. With the 10th pick I took Myck Kobango the 6'2 180lb pg out of Texas to fill Ty Lawsons role and with my 2nd round pick I took a 7'1 kid out of Puerto Rico that I'll develop into a Defensive presence.

        Free Agency

Signed Darrius Morris to 3yr deal
Signed Omer Asik to 3yr deal
Signed Chandler Parsons to 2yr deal

So my starting day Line-up is
        PG:Myck Kobango
        SG:Marshon Brooks
        SF:Perry Jones
        PF:Kennith Faried
        C:Javale Mcgee
        1arrius Morris
        2:Travis Leslie
        3:Chandler Parsons
        4:Trey Thompkins
        5:Omer Asik

        My goals for this year
Develop Perry Jones and Myck Kobango
        Develop my 2nd round pick
Have Javale Mcgee make an All NBA team and All NBA Defensive team

        Win 45 games
        Get a top 4 seed
If possible try to match up with Thunder

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Currently the Boston Celtics, before starting my first game I decided to make two trades to bolster the bench and future and also a solid post defender.

Trail Blazers trade: Joel Przybilla, Elliot Williams, '12 2nd round pick.
Celtics trade: Ryan Hollins, 12' 2nd round pick, 13' 2nd round pick, Keyon Dooling.

          Nuggets trade: Danilo Gallinari.
Celtics trade: Jermaine O'Neal, JaJuan Johnson, '13 1st round pick.

The reason I traded for Gallinari is because the Nuggets have Chandler and he is sitting on the bench and with his contract just wasting away it doesn't give the Nuggets any chance to re-sign McGee and add players. They gain cap space in O'Neal who is still good enough to ball and a future player in Johnson and a future draft pick. I gain a player to replace Pierce in the future and it gives great scoring depth to try and win before the big three retire or leave.

          My line-up is now;

          PG - Rondo/Bradley,
          SG - Allen/Pietrus/Daniels,
          SF - Pierce/Gallinari,
          PF - Garnett/Bass,
          C - Przybilla/Stiemsma.
          Football: Manchester United
          MLB: Cleveland Indians
          NBA: Miami Heat
          NFL: Cleveland Browns

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

In my Celtics Association, I got Stat and Shump from the Knicks. I usually only keep a 10 man rotation with 2 garbage time players but I have a 12-man rotation right now, utilizing my entire roster.

            PG:Rondo/Bradley
            SG:Allen/Shumpert/Moore
            SF:Pierce
            PF:Stat/Bass/Johnson
C: O'Neal/Stiemsma/Clay Davidson(signed from d-league) used as extra defender when needed since I play very big sometimes

I have a unique style of coaching and play. I have Amare Stoudemire so I utilize the Pick & Roll very often with him. I often use 4 big men and a Guard or Small forward. My big man lineup with these Celtics are
            Ball Handler: Shumpert
            Big1:Stat
            Big2:O'Neal
            Big3:Stiemsma
            Bg4: Davidson

When I run with a smaller rotation
            G1:Rondo
            G2:Bradley
            G3:Allen
            G4:Shumpert
            F1:Pierce or Stat

            Another rotation I use is
            PG: Allen
            SG:Shumpert
            SF:Pierce
            PF:Bass
            C:Stat

For my association , I decided to try the ultimate rebuilding project . I created a team and put the worst players I could think of . My starting 5 first year was : PG Orien Greene (50 ovr.) SG Luke Walton SF Brian Scalabrene PF Kwame Brown C DJ Mbenga . My first year , I made no changes to the team by trade or free agents . I finished the season with only 7 wins , 3 players without expiring contracts , and 40 million in cap space . I was stiffed in the draft lottery , given the third pick . With the player I was hoping for , Harrison Barnes , out of the question , I went for a reach and took Anthony Davis out of Kentucky . With the first pick in the second round I took a 6'4 shooting guard , with the intention of making a Michael Beasley-Lite , a player who would be a good scorer off the bench . The free agency pickings were slim , so I picked up Chris Paul on an extremely team friendly contract . I made no other moves in free agency , and I let my front office pick up players for the league minimum . The next year I had 12 wins , and was again stiffed in the lottery , picking third , again . This time , though , luck was on my side , as the teams picking 1 & 2 both had good SGs . This left Shabazz Muhammad to fall to me with the third pick . Free agency was better this year , but I was declined by Dwight Howard on a max contract , so I signed Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala on respectable contracts . Happy , I simulated the rest of free agency and went to the regular season . My team is terribly thin , but I think a good gameplan makes up for it . The second rounder from the ps opus year became a 73 overall offensive monster , but is unhappy because he is the sixth man . My starting lineup for year 3 is as follows : PG Chris Paul ovr. 93 SG Shabazz Muhammad ovr. 80 SF Iggy ovr. 87 PF Josh Smith ovr. 87 C Anthony Davis ovr. 84 . My sixth man , the offensive beast , is a Vince Carter lite , with 97 vertical and 90 dunk , ovr. 74 . Because of our lack of depth , we are 24th in the power ranking . I expect this to change during the season . I expect Shabazz to be my second ROTY in a row (my first being Anthony Davis) . I will post the results of season 3 later .

Your team should've looked something like this:
                    PG Derek Fisher
                    SG Luke Walton
                    SF Brian Scalabrine
                    PF Kris Humphries
                    C Kwame Brown

                    C D.J. Mbenga
                    C Byron Mullens
                    C DeSagana Diop
                    SF Metta World Peace

As for the rest just add the worst rated players in the game. I plan on doing this soon and playing on hall of fame sim 12 min quarters

Unfortunately , around the all star break , Chris Paul , Shabazz Muhammad , and Anthony Davis all got injured , sending us into a 25 game losing streak and tied us for eighth in the conference at the end of the season . Luckily , we won the coin flip and entered the playoffs . In the first round , we were bounced out by the eventual champs , the Bobcats .

Getting close to the end of the first year, 51-11 with OKC right now. My roster is

                          Westbrook - Jackson - Dragic
                          Harden - Sefolosha - Lee
                          Durant - Damion James
                          Ibaka - Hayes
                          Perkins - Przybilla

For some reason 76ers are 14-46 (worst in the league) despite being rated 7th and having a lot of stars.

Started Hawks Association.. 14 games, HOF, no injuries(T-Mac will go craaaazyyy ).. Roster updated as of 29/3/2012.

As I felt Joe Johnson was overpaid and not needed as T-Mac in my (downloaded)roster is 78 OVR and on low wage he would be better option than Johnson I made 3 trades..

                            1) Hawks trade: Joe Johnson, Jannero Pargo
                            Wizards trade: Seraphin, Lewis
                            2) Hawks trade: Lewis, Jerry Stackhouse, Willie Greene
                            Bobcats trade: Magette, DeSagna Diop
                            3) Hawks trade: Zaza Pachulia, DeSagna Diop
Pacers trade: 2nd round '13 pick, Amundson

So now I have this roster..

                            Starting 5:
                            PG: J. Teague(76 OVR, 38 min, STARTER)
SG: T-Mac(78 OVR, 38 min, STAR)
SF: Magette( 74 OVR, 35 min, STARTER)
PF: J. Smith( 84 OVR, 38 min, STARTER)
                            C: Horford (81 OVR, 38 min, STARTER)

                            Bench:
                            PG: Hinrich(72 OVR, 10 min, 6th MAN)
SF: Radmanović(64 OVR, 10 min, BENCH WARMER)
                            C: Dampier(62 OVR, 10 min, BENCH WARMER)
SF: M. Williams (71, 13 min, ROLE PLAYER)
PF: Seraphin(65 OVR, 10 min, ROLE PLAYER)

Played one game vs Bucks and won 107-100. Best player was T-Mac with 31 pt, 4 reb, 9 assists, 2 steal, FG - 9/16, 3PT- 3/5 and FT 10/16. Smith had 25 pt, 10 reb, 11-23 form the field, 1/2 from downtown. Horford had 27 pt, 7 reb, 5 assists, 2 steal, 5/10 from the field, 10/12 from free throw line.

I have no idea what to do with this team but I plan on doing something big this off season. Maybe trade Tyreke, but I don't know. Something needs to change.

Anyways, I decided to play all the playoffs which is full of 1 game series. I'm now down to the conference finals, and it is a very weird group of teams.

The first match up in the West is between the #4 Thunder at the #2 Warriors.

The Thunder killed the Clippers in the first round, and had no problem beating the #8 Cinderella Suns. Meanwhile, the Warriors clicked mid season and have been playing great since acquiring Bogut. They easily beat both the #7 Rockets and #6 Grizzlies.

The second match up in the East is the #8 Bobcats at the #3 Knicks.

The Bobcats shocked both the #1 Heat and #4 Bulls thanks to great games from Corey Maggette. They'll look to continue their Cinderella story against the red hot Knicks. The Knicks barely squeaked by the #6 Hawks and then had a double digit comeback against the #7 76ers. Carmelo and Amare have each had 30 point performances this post season so far.

So it's a crazy final four and who knows what will happen...

Fun fact: I'm 0-3 against the Bobcats this season. I've lost to them playing as the Heat, Bulls, and Kings. I can't stop Tyrus Thomas and Maggette! I'll try again as the Knicks though. Overall I'm 5-7 when playing during the playoffs.
The Knicks beat the Bobcats by 20, and then went on to barely beat the Warriors on the road in OT, to win their first NBA championship in over 30 years. Carmelo had 36, 9, and 7, and the game winning dunk with 6 seconds left in OT. Klay Thompson, who had 37 points on 8 threes, missed a three at the buzzer to potentially win the Warriors the championship. Instead, it was the Knicks who celebrated.

For the off-season, my Kings won the lottery! I considered trading down so I could get Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (I need a SF badly), but I stuck with Anthony Davis. I figured he could play center, and I could move DeMarcus Cousins to PF. That could easily be a championship front court in a couple years.

Then I traded Tyreke. While he was fun to play with, at times I hated not having a true point guard. So I sent him to the Magic for a Jameer Nelson, Earl Clark, and a 2013 first round pick. I get a starting point guard (until I feel comfortable with Jimmer out there), and an athletic swingman who for now starts on my team.
Also that first round could be very high, since Dwight may be traded later. But for now my team looks like:

                              PG Jameer Nelson
                              SG Marcus Thornton
                              SF Earl Clark
                              PF DeMarcus Cousins
                              C Anthony Davis

We're 28th overall, with an 8th ranked offense, but a 30th ranked defense. Not too great, but 2 first rounders next year, should either bring two good rookies, or someone else in a trade.

Elsewhere around the league, Steve Nash is on the Blazers now, paired with high flying rookie Andre Drummond. Austin Rivers went #2 to the Jazz who badly needed a point guard, and MKG went #3 to the Wizards. Also, Tyreke and Dwight may be a great pair together. If they have success, I probably won't trade Dwight.

So far this season I'm 1-3. I lost a heartbreaker to the Jazz on opening night in OT, then the Hawks and Rockets beat me pretty handily. Finally, I defeated the Bobcats by 20. My front court is playing very well with Davis and Cousins, but everyone else not so much.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.
