Re: Anybody else worried about 2k12?

Well, and what's scary is that a lot of people are just saying the demo is set on easy, but the complaint is that the demo is too easy and too hard all at the same time lol. Upping the difficulty may help the shooting issues (not so sure from the vids so far though), but it makes the defensive issues that much bigger.

      That was crazy and excessive.

i stopped reading after this although i should have stopped earlier when you said this was based on the demo but in the real life, you give an NBA player an open shot and the majority of the time they are going to make it. Thats why these guys are professionals and paid as much as they are.

Well you know there's a reason why NBA teams focus so heavily defense because surprise surprise nearly Everyone is a great shooter if you leave them open, this isn't playing pick up ball, everyone in the NBA is a capable shooter.
As well um hate to tell you this but what your complaining about is just the natural give and take of defense in the NBA, how can you expect to shut down James and wade and not have them find open people? They are both terrific passers. Basketball is an Offensive Game (which is why d is so important) this isn't hockey. Sometimes you just can't stop an offense. So as a coach once told me "just keep fighting till they break."

A game video without acknowledging the settings and level he is playing on doesn't tell us much. He could be on pro default. He hit 10 threes on 4 minute quarters I can't believe this is on sim settings.

2k usually releases an update to tighten things up....hopefully they do again even with the lockout...

Jeez guys, for one you're just wrong about the open shots. Let's watch any NBA game in the history of NBA games, and I'll show you several instances of guys missing open/semi-open shots. Saying that every player hits every wide open shot every time is just silly and honestly if that's the argument that this game is sim....well that scares me.

Also, let me clarify, when I say open shot, I mean any shot where I'm not completely mauling the offensive player.

Instead of some getting all worked up, why not wait to play the game and form your own opinions.

No 2 people play the game the same. Its should be fairly easy to get an idea of what to expect from the reviews and Impressions thread.

The demo was a "Early Build" and everyone with a copy has verified that the demo is just that a demo.

If you are still on the fence about the game, simply rent it or don't buy it at all.

Really you have examples of people missing shots? No way? We are going to have compleatly change the way we play d. It's not like shooting a piece of pig skin into a metallic hoop that's not much bigger than itself from any distance with thousands of fans screaming at you is difficult or anything. But seriously dude the things your complaining about in the demo on d, is the same stuff real NBA players gotta complain about in rl, now to me that is sim

I agree. That being said people are saying it is the best game ever without playing so why should he wait?

Yeah, I hope the full game is an improvement. It's funny because I was having a good time with the demo, though I always noticed the shooting percentages were high. But then I started to focus on defense, and the frustration just kept mounting. Literally it seems like 2 out of every 3 baskets are unstoppable. Even when I'm playing great defense, the AI will mess up or the cpu will hit a contested fadeaway jumper.

LOL, this is classic. Let me recap how this conversation has gone...

Me: The cpu makes every shot, it's a little crazy!

Response: Of course they do, they're NBA players. NBA players don't miss even semi-open shots.

Me: Uhhh, yes they do. NBA players miss open shots all the time.

Response: Well duh, of course they do. Bastketball is hard.

It's being said to be the best ever because it is

If 2K had a history of getting over on the consumer with a shady product I could probably understand a little better about some having concerns, but these guys put out a pretty good product year after year, same can be said for SCEA and Mlb The Show series. This year is no different.

People are gonna have to get used to playing this years defense and then a lot of the concerns will go away. I posted in the "Impressions thread" that at first I was having issues but as I adjusted playing defense feels normal and the cpu %'s have come down.

                            I approve this post.

I've gone back and forth with 2k. I've never gone over to Live, but I have skipped getting a b-ball game a couple times. Specifically, I started playing the 2k series starting with 2k2, and I loved 2k2-2k4, 2k6-2k8, and of course 2k11. 2k5 was a disaster though, and 2k9 and 2k10 were just below par enough for me to pass.

I'm just laughing at whoever's getting worked up over that Ray Allen video, he probably shot with him every possession. Obviously it's gonna look stupid if all he shows is made shots
