Like Czar said there are flaws in the defensive AI, though his advice helps.

If you did not see the cause then you need to re-watch the video because it was clear as day.

Czar's videos show something complete different from Smoove's. When the defender left his man in Czar's, he was inching to prevent the drive by the ball handler. That makes sense and looks intentional. Smoove's show defenders leaving completely to stand in the paint doing nothing while the ball is at the perimeter, and confused, dangerous switches at inopportune times.

If they're actually caused by the same help defense logic, then something is wrong with its implementation. Help defense should help-- like Czar shows. Not leave defenders to stand in the paint covering neither their man or the ball.

I knew it was all user error on my part, I whole heartedly agree with the theme of this thread.

I wont double post but here is another thread i have been posting in and this will explain why i felt the need to leave this post.

I agree, about chargers. This seems more post patch...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Also remember that the diluge of lengthy threads regarding various issues that's increased steadily after the first few weeks most likely reflect realities regarding the gameplay. Even Da_Czar has agreed about certain gameplay flaws and is at least slightly less complimentary about certain aspects of the gameplay than he was before launch.

I don't think there's a reason to "nerf" the gameplay or "tone down the intensity", whatever that means. But the predictable late game CPU boosts should be toned down and be made less scripted. Artificial difficulty should be toned down in favor or realistic difficulty. The many, many issues people have pointed out (passing, fast breaks, over-abundance of small players using clutch inside moves, rebounding, lack of boxing-out, lack of double-teams, less effective isomotions, wacky big-men tendencies and ratings, etc.) should also be looked at because they cause the game to play less than sim (and some are being looked at as far as I can tell).

Athough many systems in 2K12 are more advanced and more interesting on the surface than 2K11's, overall 2K12 gameplay, especially on All-Star and above, *is* a step back from patched 2K11 in my opinion. The fact that issues resolved in 2K11's final patch are now back does reasonably make people feel that way. I think 2K12 can easily exceed 2k11's overall gameplay when the holes are patched, because it does some things very well. I'm only slightly worried, but there are quite a few of them.
